Chalino’s Story Chalino was adopted as a cute little puppy, but his owner’s work schedule became too demanding. Because he spent long hours away from home—and couldn’t safely bring Chalino along in a work truck during hot weather—his owner made the difficult, loving decision to find him a home where he can have more companionship and attention. A friend also gave Chalino a chance, but had the same issue: long workdays and not wanting to leave this sweet boy alone all day. Chalino has done nothing wrong. He simply deserves a home that has more room in its routine for walks, cuddles, playtime, and being included as part of the family. His Personality Chalino is a sweet, affectionate, lovable guy who enjoys being close to his people. One of his favorite things is hopping up beside you when you are sitting down so he can give hugs and soak up attention. Background : Simon suddenly found himself without a home after his devoted owners passed away. Simon wasn’t just a pet; he was a treasured family member who was deeply loved and well cared for. Personality : Simon is an insecure dog. He loves women, and while it takes a little while to warm up to men, once he does, he’s all in! Simon is an active dog and loves to play fetch, go for walks or hikes. Simon would do best in an adult only home. He is beginning to come around to the cat in his foster home. As an insecure dog Simon does need another small, bossy female dog in his forever home. Favorite Things: Simon loves belly rubs, keeping himself occupied by playing with toys and alerting when someone comes on the property. Health : Simon is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Training : Simon is housebroken, uses a dog door and knows basic commands such as “sit” and “paw”. He’s still got a few puppy habits (like play nibbling hands), so a little refresher training wouldn’t hurt. Simon is working on leash training. Meet Ita! Ita is a tiny but mighty Wiredhair Terrier. Ita is extremely smart and picks up on cues quickly. She watches you for guidance and thrives on praise. She loves tummy rubs and cuddles. It is funny to watch her pounce after flying bugs in the backyard as well as run and leap. Ita plays tug of war with her toys and chases her ball. Ita plays hard then rests like a little angel cuddled in her bed. Ita gets excited for her morning walk and struts with confidence through the neighborhood. She walks well on a leash and keeps up with the pace of other dogs. As she walks, she observes her surroundings and makes protective growls/barks. She has made a great deal of progress in minimizing her barking when visitor enter the house. In addition, Ita is responding well to the cue of a training clicker and the following commands: sit, drop it, down, and out (to keep her out of the busy section of the kitchen). Ita is working hard at getting potty trained, and knows she is typically given a treat when she goes on the grass. In case you forget, she will enter the home and point you towards the treat jar. Ita and her sister, Gigi, enjoy each other, play well together, and keep each other company. Watching them wrestle and chase after each other is extremely entertaining, and I can’t imagine them not being together. We have a larger female dog, and both Ita and Gigi get along well with her. It is our hope to home them together as a bonded pair. Meet Gigi! Gigi is a beautiful Wiredhair Terrier who is playful and entertaining. She loves to play with her toys and especially attends to finding and chasing her ball. Her playful nature is fun to watch, as she runs and leaps in the backyard and collect sticks. When she finishes playing, she enjoys a good snuggle nap in her bed. Even when she sleeps, she is fun to watch. Gigi enjoys her morning walks and sniffing around. She walks nicely on a leash and is excited when she sees you take out the leash. She enjoys a cuddle hug and tummy rubs. She is learning these basic commands: drop it, sit, and out (to stay out of the busy kitchen area). LIbra is the most chill pup ever. Loves to be loved and always by your side. He love a good walk and if you say Chicken or Treat he is super excited. He doesn’t bark and is house trained. I recently moved and took a promotion so I am no longer remote and I am working long hours. Prefer a more low key household. Older retiree or someone’s who works remote would be perfect. A fenced in yard like we had so he can do zoomies would be a dream. He is not adapting well to me being gone and being in an apartment environment. It’s not fair to him and I want him to be happy.
