Story
Playful puppy alert! Troy packs a lot of fun into his small, scruffy body. At 1-year old and 21 pounds, Troy is a bundle of love and enthusiasm. This cheerful boy wants to be with his people, pursuing every possible adventure or cuddling on the couch. Troy loves walks, hikes, and exploring new places! He also loves meeting other dogs and people. He does great accompanying his humans on errands to dog-friendly stores. He just loves to explore the world with his humans, aka his best friends. Cuddly Troy will make you smile just as much on the couch as at the dog park. After burning off his energy in play, Troy crashes into a typical puppy nap: dead-to-the-world, snoring oblivion. He loves drifting off on his person’s lap in front of the TV – but you might turn it off just to listen to his funny sleep-snuffles! As a puppy, Troy would love a home with a yard where he can run off his energy, and a family that will give him lots of attention and teach him how to socialize appropriately. Although Troy is just beginning his puppy training, this little smarty already sleeps well in a crate, knows basic commands and learning new ones every week, absolutely loves a car ride, and waits for his food! This boy thrives with training. He loves it. He loves the focus and the purpose. We’re seeking a home that will commit to using only positive methods to continue bringing out Troy’s best, well-behaved self. He gives his full attention and takes to training quickly, especially if treats are involved. Story
Looks like: Terrier mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 9 pounds Pippie has a very clear agenda for her golden years: enjoy life to the fullest, embrace limitations of an aging body, and be as quirky as all get out. This sweet little Madam really loves to be held and cuddled and wants nothing more than to be around her favorite people. She gets along well with anyone she meets, including other dogs and also cats. In fact, at her foster home, Pippie has been caught sometimes cozying up with the other pups! But her favorite snuggle spot is right next to you on the couch or in another warm bed when you're not there to snuggle. We think she may be ok around gentle, older children, but is a bit too fragile to be around young kids. Pippie enjoys toddling around the yard for a bit or going for short walks, and then finding a warm sunny spot for a nap. She is content on car rides and also when home alone. Miss Pippie has quite a list of adorable peculiarities. For one, her stiff joints give her a bit of an old Wild West sort of swagger. For entertainment, she woo-woos when she gets excited and can be very silly and playful during her spunky moments. Her specialty moves are her wiggles while laying on her back when she is especially happy and gleeful. Pippie is on a few medications which she takes 2-3 times a day. This content little pup dreams of a loving home with caring people and a little extra space for her on the couch. Pippie had quite a rough past and joined POMDR after she was picked up as a stray and brought to Hitchcock Road Animal Services.

This handsome rag muffin is extremely cuddly, great on leash and all around good boy! He is friendly to people and dogs of all ages and sizes. Although Dave does not have known experience with cats. Dave's ideal day would be a yummy breakfast, a sniffari around the neigborhood, peanut butter treats, a cozy nap, dinner and major snuggle time on the couch with his people! This sweet snuggle bug joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was found as a stray.

Story
Looks like: Fox Terrier mix Female, 4 years old (estimated), 11 pounds Who doesn't love a sweet Mango? This little lady is a darling companion who would love to accompany you on adventures. She happily rides in a backpack and is working on learning leash skills. Mango rides quietly in the car and sleeps through the night. She also loves meeting new doggie friends! Mango needs daily eye drops to treat her dry eyes, but she happily accepts them when offered a tasty bite as payment for her cooperation. Mango can be a little shy when meeting people, but if you give her a treat or two and some chin scratches, she will be your new shadow! We think the whole leash thing is a new concept for her, but she is learning quickly that she is able to still walk when attached to a leash. She would love a forever home who can continue working on her confidence-building and leash walking skills. Mango will reward her forever home with ultimate devotion! She loves snuggling on the couch and will greet you in the morning with a little dance on her hind legs, thrilled to see you and start another exciting day! Mango came to us from Kern County Animal Services when they discovered her dry eye condition. They knew she needed more medical care than they could provide at the shelter, so we were able to get her on a freedom flight through Pilots N Paws.
