Story
Hi!  My name is Tommy and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked by Animal Control and taken to a scary place called a shelter where, after my hold time was up, I heard I was being placed on something bad called "the list".  Fortunately for me, someone from BCAA saw me and worked on getting me sprung and into foster with them ... yeah!  I was pretty dirty when I first got here but BCAA got me groomed and say I've turned out to be a handsome dude!  I appear to be some type of doodle mix, maybe what is known as a "schnoodle" (part schnauzer & part poodle).  I am around 18mos old so past all of that puppy foolishness, and I weigh right around 40lbs.  When I first arrived I was pretty confused and a little scared, but everyone has been super nice to me and have been giving me yummy food and treats and now I love getting attention from them.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats I've encountered.  I do really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding; however, I would really prefer to be out with you.  I do ok on a leash but do pull in my excitement on being out and getting to explore and just experience being alive.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.** Update - We have not been able to find Dexter the right home for him. He will be a long term foster unless that one in a million right home comes along for him. We are looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of his medical expenses. Dexter is on a special diet and needs regular grooming appointments for his skin. To donate towards his care please visit our website  Donate (abuddyforlife.org) Dexter is about 6 years old and 35lbs.  He is very lovable to his person and very protective.  He has some aggresion issues with protecting his home and people.  He needs a dog experienced person who understands this and will not put him in a situation where he will continue this behavior.  He needs to be an only pet in the home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 22, 2024, 12:58 pm

Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. June 16, 2026, 4:11 pm

Story
Beta is being fostered in NC Such a sweet laid back lady who is a joy to have around! ... enjoys being scratched and loved on, but not too much of a cuddler🤷‍♀️ or at least not with me…. Chewing on bone marrow is a favorite pastime, along with wandering around the yard if it is not hot out😂. She isn’t particularly attached to any specific bed, she kind of likes to bounce from one place to another…sort of like Goldie Locks😉. If she is needing to go out she starts wandering around, so regular bathroom outings are definitely suggested… she is wonderful on a leash, slowly enjoys sniffing everything while perking up at all the sounds around and responding with a few barks that are too adorable. As for eating, she is definitely spoiled, plain dry kibble is not going to do it. So we rotate different foods mixed into her kibble… she is quite fond of chicken broth and rice with frozen mixed veggies though so she gets that several times a week. Shredded boiled chicken and plain yogurt is another favorite… it has been a wonderful experience watching her come out of her shell, and I’m sure she has only begun that personality development… she would make anyone a fabulous companion, excellent with dogs of all sizes and cats are of zero interest to her, she just passes them by or lays with them. I can’t say enough of how much of a joy she is to have around. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
