Story
Howdy, I'm WILLY (Billy), and here is a bit about me:Breed: Cocker Spaniel mixAge: 5 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 42 lbsHeight: 18-1/2 inchesCountry of Origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: Determined, loyal, happy, curious, playful, fearless, sociable, and affectionate. designed to be your perfect Spaniel companion: ready for adventuring, followed by lovey-dovey snuggles!I am a determined and loyal boy searching for a heart to call my own and a safe sanctuary where my resilient spirit can finally rest. URGENT: A CALL FOR HELP "I need a safe, forever home in Canada where I am showered with attention because my rescue team also needs to find their own safe home outside of the Republic of Georgia (ROG) and can't keep me much longer.Finding me a placement is now a matter of extreme urgency for both me and the brave people who saved me." My journey began on the cold streets of Georgia, where I was found limping and shivering, begging for food.A severe injury to my front right leg, likely from a car accident, required major surgery. Today, I carry six permanent titanium screws that keep my leg stable. While my elbow joint is fused and cannot bend, my recovery is in full swing! I am already starting to put weight on my leg, a brave step toward the normal, happy life I deserve. A true 'cuddly buggly,' my top priority is being held, kissed, and showered with attention.I am a social butterfly who gets along famously with both dogs and humans. Because I bond so deeply, situational anxiety can surface when my trusted human leaves. That's when I deploy a hoarse, persistent bark. My team manages this beautifully with training and calming chews, so no worries!I am a dedicated 'shadow' who will never let anyone sneak up on my family. Fussiness is never an issue for me; enjoying a soft bed and any kind of food is fine.I hope my perfect human is ready for an especially sweet guy like me! I am a fearless and devoted shadow, ready to start my new life in a safe sanctuary. If you’re looking for a fearless friend who will love you fiercely and bring happiness into your life, I am waiting for you!UPDATE OCT 2025: I am starting to put weight on my weaker leg now!I'm still running on three legs for now, but I'm doing my rehab bit by bit. Every day I get a little stronger!Watch my incredible progress! https://youtube.com/shorts/RVG1DsCGjtE , https://youtube.com/shorts/4Lh7Zk5WzHY Energy level:  ModerateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: None observed. Health Notes:6 permanent titanium screws above & below elbow. Unable to bend at my elbow joint.I have been neutered, vaccinated, rabies titer-tested. and microchipped.Adoption fee: $700.00 CAD plus tax. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. ##2455779##

Story
Hi there! My name is SHIRLEY and here is a little info about me.Breed: Brittany Spaniel/Harrier mixAge: 2 - 1/2 yrsGender: femaleCountry of Origin: Republic of GeorgiaHeight: 21 inchesWeight: 35 lbHighlights: Playful, smart, affectionate, docile, resilient. Gentle, fun, and radiating love, that’s the best way to describe me!Possessing a unique, elegant look and a heart full of hope, I can’t wait to find a best friend of my very own to share my life with. Life began in the middle of a terrifying storm at a remote Black Sea beach campsite.Rescued as a tiny 2-month-old pup alongside my mama and eight siblings, we faced a hard battle with parvovirus in isolation. While it's heartbreaking that most of my siblings didn’t make it, the round-the-clock care from kind humans saved my life. After a full recovery and seeing my mama off to her forever home, I’ve been waiting patiently for my turn to be cherished. Playfulness and intelligence are my two best traits!I’m a social butterfly who loves making friends, though my small size and docile nature make me a bit vulnerable. Because I’ve been picked on by bigger dogs at the refuge, I have a natural fear of large dogs and would feel safest in a home where I can feel protected. Whether it’s running with toys or enjoying dog cookies, I find joy in the little things. Loving, gentle humans who enjoy a mix of outdoor adventures and cozy cuddles would be my perfect match. An extra special dream would be finding a home with my brother, Snoopie, as we make life twice as fun together!A home without large dogs would be ideal to help me feel confident. Since I’m a moderate-to-high energy girl, I’m looking for a family ready to continue my leash training and share many happy snacks with me. Energy level: moderate/highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, but rescuer says probably noKids: unknown, but rescuer says probably yes Fears: Big dogs. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash training:  In progress. Please be prepared to continue training me.House trained: Yes. Please show me where to go in my new home. Health notes:Due to the stress of Sanctuary life and competition with larger dogs, I sometimes engage in coprophagia (eating stool), which can lead to temporary diarrhea. This behavior is often stress-linked and typically improves significantly in a calm, stable home environment where I feel safe. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Story
Hi, my name is PRINCESS! Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me, as I certainly want to get to know you! Here is a little info about me: Breed: English Setter/Spaniel mix Age: 2 years Gender: Female Weight: 75 lbs / 34 kg Height: 27 inches / 68 cm Current Location: Vancouver Highlight(s): Friendly, intelligent, eager to learn, good with dogs ,cats& kids Energy Level: Moderate I get along with: Dogs, cats and kids Fears: The past is in the past! Thanks to my amazing foster family, I have successfully overcome my initial timidness and fears of men, the leash, and quick movements around my head. Training: Leash skills: YesHouse trained: Yes Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adoption fee: $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.   About me - Don't let my regal name deter you. As a spaniel, I wouldn't shy away from some muddy times while accompanying you on hikes, swims, and romps at the dog park! My bags are officially unpacked in Vancouver, and I'm settling in like a true Canadian, earning high marks! I’ve officially mastered 'Sit' and am crushing the cruel 'Leave It' command. My foster mom says I'm a champion at respecting boundaries (and yes, I know exactly which part of the couch I’m allowed to steal). Paws up! My luxurious coat is looking amazing and barely sheds anymore! However, just so you know, I'm not hypoallergenic (my fluff will be worth the brush!). My rescuer named me Princess because while I make friends easily (canine and human alike), I prefer to eat my meals alone, please and thank you. A 'Queen' in Training - Past trauma caused resource guarding (food/toys), but my training is a huge success: I’ve mastered 'Wait,' sit automatically for meals, and I’m quickly building trust that my resources are secure. I socialize well with dogs (we enjoy zoomies!) and people. Im fully housetrained and respects boundaries beautifully. My story - I spent my first few months neglected, malnourished, and tied up on a short leash in a sad, old building. Then, a kind neighbor heard me and started bringing me food, earning my trust. She stood up for me, advocated for my release from what felt like "doggy jail," and brought me to the shelter. I was safe there and thriving for about nine months (since October 2023)! My ideal home - The best kind of home for me would be one that offers some adventure time. Cuddles and relaxed time at home would also be fabulous! I'm pretty adaptable, so should fit into most home environments. I am officially 'Cat Approved' and do fine with cats. I am 100% good with other dogs, as long as there are no toys or food involved. I just need a loving human to help me continue my training so I can trust that all my treasures will be there forever!
