Story
Hi, my name is PRINCESS! Thank you for taking a moment to get to know me, as I certainly want to get to know you! Here is a little info about me: Breed: English Setter/Spaniel mix Age: 2 years Gender: Female Weight: 75 lbs / 34 kg Height: 27 inches / 68 cm Current Location: Vancouver Highlight(s): Friendly, intelligent, eager to learn, good with dogs ,cats& kids Energy Level: Moderate I get along with: Dogs, cats and kids Fears: The past is in the past! Thanks to my amazing foster family, I have successfully overcome my initial timidness and fears of men, the leash, and quick movements around my head. Training: Leash skills: YesHouse trained: Yes Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adoption fee: $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.   About me - Don't let my regal name deter you. As a spaniel, I wouldn't shy away from some muddy times while accompanying you on hikes, swims, and romps at the dog park! My bags are officially unpacked in Vancouver, and I'm settling in like a true Canadian, earning high marks! I’ve officially mastered 'Sit' and am crushing the cruel 'Leave It' command. My foster mom says I'm a champion at respecting boundaries (and yes, I know exactly which part of the couch I’m allowed to steal). Paws up! My luxurious coat is looking amazing and barely sheds anymore! However, just so you know, I'm not hypoallergenic (my fluff will be worth the brush!). My rescuer named me Princess because while I make friends easily (canine and human alike), I prefer to eat my meals alone, please and thank you. A 'Queen' in Training - Past trauma caused resource guarding (food/toys), but my training is a huge success: I’ve mastered 'Wait,' sit automatically for meals, and I’m quickly building trust that my resources are secure. I socialize well with dogs (we enjoy zoomies!) and people. Im fully housetrained and respects boundaries beautifully. My story - I spent my first few months neglected, malnourished, and tied up on a short leash in a sad, old building. Then, a kind neighbor heard me and started bringing me food, earning my trust. She stood up for me, advocated for my release from what felt like "doggy jail," and brought me to the shelter. I was safe there and thriving for about nine months (since October 2023)! My ideal home - The best kind of home for me would be one that offers some adventure time. Cuddles and relaxed time at home would also be fabulous! I'm pretty adaptable, so should fit into most home environments. I am officially 'Cat Approved' and do fine with cats. I am 100% good with other dogs, as long as there are no toys or food involved. I just need a loving human to help me continue my training so I can trust that all my treasures will be there forever! Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.   Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2116453##

Story
Howdy, I'm WILLY (Billy) and here is a bit about me:Breed: Cocker SpanielAge: 5 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 19 kgHeight: 47 cmCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: Determined, loyal, happy, curious, playful, fearless, sociable, affectionate. I'm a super affectionate Spaniel, a true cuddly buggly! Loving to be held, kissed, and showered with attention is my number one priority.Due to the instability of rescue teams, I have an urgent need to reach a safe, forever home as soon as possible. The rescue journey was rough: limping, shivering, and begging for food.An old injury to the front right leg (likely hit by a car) required major surgery and six permanent titanium screws.Rebuilding strength with daily supplements is currently underway. Though the elbow will never bend, living a normal life is totally achievable.Hope the perfect human is ready for an especially sweet guy like this!Typically happy, curious, and playful, sociable with both dogs and humans.A tendency to bond tightly means situational anxiety can surface when the trusted human leaves. That's when this little guy deploys a hoarse, persistent bark. Training and calming chews manage this beautifully, so no worries!Expect determination, fearlessness, and deep loyalty, no sneaking up on the family with this devoted shadow around!Fussiness is never an issue; enjoying a soft bed and any kind of food is fine.I was designed to be your perfect Spaniel companion: ready for adventuring, followed by lovey-dovey snuggles! UPDATE OCT 2025: I am starting to put weight on my weaker leg now. Still running on 3 though. Bit at a time rehab. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health Notes: i have 6 permanent titanium screws in my leg above & below elbow. I am unable to bend at my elbow joint.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, as well as rabies titer-tested.My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
