Story
Hi there! My name is Jellybean and I'm so un-bean-lievably sweet that you have to come meet me!My friends here at OHS ADORE me and have so many wonderful things to say! I love to be around my favorite people, looking out windows, and hanging out with other dogs that are of equal size. I have the silliest personality and will be sure to bring a smile to your face. My name definitely suits me as I'm super sweet just like a Jellybean!I am a very active boy and would love to go on adventures with you! Toys - specifically balls - are my absolute favorite and we can have so much fun playing together! I'm quite a large boy and sometimes don't know my size, so I need to go to a home without children. While I LOVE my favorite people (be ready for all the smooches and cuddles!) I can be a little shy and nervous around new people, new surroundings and touch. I also can have barrier reactivity which means I can be frustrated meeting new dogs or people through barriers. I prefer to meet in a neutral, open setting, take things at my own pace. Treats are my favorite way to make friends! My friends also say I love to learn! I am super smart and know sit and down, but I am always ready to learn more! Treats and positive reinforcement are great ways to make friends with me and teach me new things. I am high energy and I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. Being such a big and rambunctious guy I must go to a home with a fenced in yard. I can also be quite the leash puller, I can't help it walkies are so so so much fun! Patience and guidance from my forever family can help me improve my leash skills!I have had some fun with other large dogs while at OHS but I can be quite the rough and rowdy player, so I will need to meet any large canine companions prior to getting adopted. I will also need a home without small dogs, cats, and other small animals. That just means more fun time for us! Once we meet in person I will be sure to melt your heart. If you're interested, I am part of the Diamond in the Ruff program, which you can learn more about here. I can't wait to meet you Primary Color: Sable Weight: 97 Age: 2yrs 9mths 1wks

Story
Annie the Anatolian So glad to meet you! I am a gorgeous, floofy young adult girl with big paws & an even bigger heart. I am likely not a purebred Anatolian; I share a lot of characteristics with Great Pyrenees, another big, floofy breed. Both breed are guardians at heart. I am a little shy when I first meet people, but soon warm up, especially with children. I am also shy at first with other dogs, unless they are trying to butt in when you are loving on me! I love to eat. I am crate trained. I’m learning to love being brushed. Cats are ok. Digging random holes in the backyard is a lot of fun. I would love to become part of your family! Adopt me through God’s Dogs Rescue. Attributes: 90% housebroken Shy at first, but warms up quickly Affection hog Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Mackinaw Have you ever watched the TV show, “The Incredible Dr. Pol”? Well, my foster mom has been binge watching the show and trying to figure out a name for me and since the show is based in Michigan, she came up with my name, which is Mackinaw. It means ‘large turtle’ in the Ojibwa language, one of the Indian tribes in the area. I don’t think I look like a large turtle but whatever…. I am probably a Bernese Mountain Dog mix of some sort, and I am very loveable and sweet. I was found in the middle of the road and my foster mom was concerned that I was thrown from a car because I was not using my left rear leg as well as I was using the right one. But after some crate rest for a week and a visit to the vet to get an exam and some x-rays done, I am happy to say that nothing is broken and I am using my legs like I am supposed to now. Very good news! I will probably be a large medium or a small large size, if that makes sense. About 50-60 pounds or so. But since my breed is based on my handsomely good looks, it is hard to tell how big I will be when I grow up. And my breed is just a guess anyhow, only a DNA test will tell for sure, but I am 100% purebred lover boy. I was born about the third of November of 2025 and will be available for my new forever home after I get fixed in January 2026. Adoption fee in Texas is $250. Out of State adoption fee is $550 with transport and fuel surcharge.
