Meet BowIe! Bowie is a sweet, loving girl who is ready for her forever home. She is very friendly and loves being around her humans. Bowie would do best as the only dog in the home so she can have all the attention to herself and can be dog selective. She would do best in a home with no cats and has not been small child tested. Bowie was found dumped on the side of a country road in a rural area, left to fend for herself. She ran right up to a hunter for pets and followed him around the rest of the day. She is such an affectionate dog. As he drove away, he could see her in his rearview mirror slowly trying to follow his truck down the road. He could not stop thinking about her big brown eyes that seemed to look right into his soul. That is when he contacted a volunteer with DSDA and started the process to get her rescued. She is petite at just 46 lbs, making her a great size for many homes. Bowie loves treats and dog toys, and she already knows how to sit on command and is leash and house trained. She enjoys relaxing in the backyard, especially if it includes belly rubs. She is very chill and happy to cuddle up with you on a recliner for a good movie. Bowie is spayed and has recently completed heartworm treatment. She is ready to move forward with a healthy, happy life in her new home. Bowie also likes to chase squirrels, so a secure yard would be a plus. If you’re looking for a loyal, calm companion who loves people and enjoys the simple things, Bowie could be the perfect match for you. ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption! * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325 Dogs (over 12 months) - $275 Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2599671##
