Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Johnny Boy is a Tibetan Terrier - Jagdterrier Mix. He was rescued from the Escondido, CA Humane Society for being extremely Fearful. This poor boy was only 4 months old when he was brought to my attention. Unfortunate, he was part of an accidental litter. His owner was very ill so she adopted him out to a family she thought would take care of him the rest of his life. Not sure what happened , but not even 24 hours this family decided to surrender him to the shelter instead of giving him back to his original owner and then blocked her from calling them. His original owner became frantic so she reached out to me looking for her dog. After explaining the situation I searched for Johnny and found out that he was dumped at the shelter. The next day I pulled this poor 4 month old that was petrified out of his mind. Two days later Johnny Boy is playing witj the other dogs and having the time of his life. I'm very happy that I took Johnny Boy under my wings. Johnny Boy, is happy, healthy and very friendly with people and other dogs his size. He kennel trained, loves playing with his toys and going on his walks. Current he weight 26 Lbs and his potential weight could be 30 Lbs. Johnny Boy, needs an active loving family to call his own and maybe even a young dog he can play and bond with. That would be a blessing and added bonus. If you live in San Diego County or surrounding areas have a home with a yard and a secured fence and would love to adopt Johnny Boy, then please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
Hello People, My name is Vivi and I’m a sweet and quite sassy little girl of five looking for a forever home. My foster Mom says I’m very loving and affectionate -- and as feminine as they come. I’m all of 12 pounds, am housebroken (and use the doggy door) and I love my crate. I even put myself to bed at night if I’m tired (but Mom lets me come in to the Big People’s Bed in the morning for a cuddle or two or three!) Dad says I’m a diamond in the rough. He and Mom are doing their best to teach me the proper way to behave in the world. I’m definitely making progress but will need to continue my ‘learning’ with someone who is a super smart and VERY savvy dog person. If that sounds like you, please read on! While I am long on (good) looks and cute as can be, I’m also pretty willful. I like to do what I like to do (which is why I need someone who is smarter than I am and will guide me into perfect behaviors.) I walk well on a leash and am learning to relax in the car. I do best on short drives and when I can listen to music. I do love to cuddle and am known for springing up into your lap to cuddle at the slightest provocation and wanting you to pet my head ( but only my head, please!). If you are lying on the sofa, I love to roll on top of you and make cute little "snorty" noises as I turn around. Unfortunately I’m not a pup that is good around children. If you have children or grandchildren that visit I’m not the one for you. Sorry! I’m an ‘adults-only’ kind of pup. Mom says before I became a FurKid I was adopted simply because I am cute. So I formed some bad habits that she is helping me to overcome. Since I’m smart, I’m definitely learning what to do and not do. I’m also a bit selective about making friends. I bark when people come to the door (Dad says I’m a great watchdog) but when I know someone, I’m much friendlier. I also guard my toys, which is why I’m best as the only pup in the house. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time * NO other FurKids--as I like to be the center of attention * Adults only * NO children or grandchildren * Committed to training me Experience level: *Recent dog experience a must! *Rescue dog experience a plus! *Experience with behavioral training a real plus!!! Because I wasn’t successful in my ‘past life’ I’m hoping to make up for lost time – and am looking for adopters who will appreciate my femininity and my affectionate nature – and will continue to work on my training so I can become the best little girl that I can be. Mom says there is no doubt that I’m well worth the effort but you have to know my signals so that I can be successful. If I sound like the pup you are looking for please let us know. It will be a very special home to which I am adopted as I’m a very special kind of pup. If that sounds like you, please send an email explaining your experience and background to bfkapplicants@gmail.com If you sound like you represent a fit, we will be back in touch. Tail wags and cuddles, Vivacious, Intelligent and Very Independent Vivi

Story
Hi Everybody! My name is Bewitching Bailey and I’m an amazingly adorable Bichon mix of three (years, that is) weighing a mere 8 pounds and as cute as I am affectionate! I’m definitely “cuddle sized” and all about loving my people. I also love walks and rides in the car. In fact, I am the world’s best companion! Well, that is unless you are a giraffe, a hippo or a tiger. I wouldn’t want to be your companion then. (Mom says I’m being a little silly but she knows what I mean!) I’m a lot of fun – a little guy who is a dancer (more on that later) housebroken (that is NOT a typo!), friendly, feisty, playful and protective. Despite my small size I firmly believe that I have to protect my foster family from anyone and anything. Although Dad says I’m a total sweetheart, if I hear a noise outside at night I go into ‘guard dog mode’ as I want to keep everyone inside safe! You can tell that I'm a bit of a character. Oh and did I mention that I’m S-M-A-R-T? Well, Mom has this thing she calls a routine. It all started when one of my doggy foster brothers needed something called ‘remedial potty training.’ It goes like this: We dogs go outside and do our business. Then when we come inside we get a TREAT! Well it took me no time at all to figure out how to do that, you can bet! Since I was already housebroken I figured I could go to the head of the class, I mean line. Oh, and take one of my slower doggy foster brothers treats while I’m there. Well, Mom is pretty smart too… so now I have to wait until they have gotten their treats before I get mine (but Mom thinks I’m pretty clever for figuring that out so fast! And Dad does too!) Now, as for dancing—well I do that for treats too! I’m so darn adorable that the sight of me standing on my legs, twirling around and smiling usually gets me exactly what I want! Other things that I do that Mom and Dad love are that I follow them around like a shadow, give lots of kisses, am energetic but pretty chill most of the day. And when it comes to playing, I can chase my tail (and I will catch it one of these days too. I’ve come very, very close already!) During the day I like to sleep either next to you on the couch or in my bed near you while you work. And after a day of playing and chilling I sleep with Mom, Dad and their pups in the Big People’s bed and am quiet all night long. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *A couple or family *Perhaps another young FurKid or I might be an ‘only’ *Adults or a family with kids over 12 Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult * Recent experience with a young, active pup a plus I’m loyal, sweet and loving. The only thing that I need right now is a forever family to call my own. Do I sound like your kind of guy? I’m awfully good at a lot of things and I’m waiting to be yours. So please complete our application and ask for me. Love and cuddles Bailey the Bandit (‘cause I’ll steal your heart)

Story
Hello New Friends! My name is Loveable Levi and I’m a sweet and snuggly little guy of four (years that is) who is an affectionate and amazing companion! I get along with my doggy foster brother and sister and like being part of a pack. I’m awesome with children (even the very young ones) and love to be near my people (but am never intrusive.) My foster Mom says I have puppy dog eyes that look at you with love – and that I have the ability to ‘materialize’ from almost anywhere if you call my name. Dad says I’m an athletic, strong, smart and loving little lap dog! (Can you tell he likes me?) I have an endearing and curious nature, like to explore my environment and am energetic and also playful –and that snuggling is my specialty. Dad and Mom agree: one look at my cute little face and you will fall in love. Once upon a time, I had a wonderful home with a Mom who loved and took care of me- and I was the happiest pup on earth. But one sad day, Mom went to Heaven and I was taken to the shelter, which was a pretty scary place for a gentle soul like me. Luckily, my BFK Aunties came and scooped me up, because they could see that I was a great pup who would make a wonderful companion. I am a long legged colt of a guy who likes to stand on my hind legs. Mom says I look like a prairie dog when I do that. And I do the cutest thing too! You see Mom had the TV on and I heard horses. I stopped what I was doing and started watching – and stayed there in front of the TV just watching and watching and watching the horses! And then I heard a cat meow on Mom’s phone and watched the entire cat video with Mom. She said she has never seen a pup do that! Did I mention that I’m healthy and loving and cheerful- and that I like walks (where I can explore the neighborhood)? I also love car rides. Sometimes I curl up and sleep the whole way, and other times, I look out the window and grin. I’m also eager to please. At home, I’m the perfect buddy for a snuggle in front of the TV, or a little nap on the sofa. I stick right by my people and will even put my little paw on my Mom’s hand, so she knows that I’m there for her and ready to be petted at any time. Mom says that having me around is like having a visit from an old friend, who fits right in. My Ideal Home: *Someone home most of the time *Another active, playful dog around my age *A family with kids would be my ideal! Experience level: *Have had dogs as an adult *Recent/current dog experience a plus So now I’m hoping that somebody out there is looking for a loving, playful and affectionate guy like me, to “fit right in” at their home. Do you think you and your family might have a place for me in your hearts? Do you have children or grandchildren you want to teach about unconditional love? I’m happy to help you do that! Could you help me write a happy ending to my story? If so, please write, just as soon as you can, and ask for Levi. I’ll be waiting with a smile and a loving look in my eyes. Tail wags and bichon kisses, Loveable and Lively Levi
