SWEET PEA — LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL HOME Sweet Pea didn’t get the gentle start every dog deserves. She came to us pregnant from a hoarding situation with extremely poor living conditions. With no socialization in her past, strangers are overwhelming for her, and trust is something she gives very slowly. But beneath her fear is a truly tender soul. Sweet Pea now gets excited when she sees the people she knows, and she’ll carefully give little hand kisses — her way of saying “I’m trying.” She **wants** affection, but she’s still learning how to accept it. Sweet Pea needs a quiet, patient home with someone who understands that progress comes in small steps. She’s not ready for cuddles or handling yet, but with time, consistency, and compassion, she will continue to blossom.
