Meet Lewis! Lewis is a 2-year-old neutered male with a quirky, silly personality that’s impossible not to smile at. This playful little guy absolutely loves frolicking around the play yard, where his favorite activity is trying to get everyone involved in the fun. Lewis has a special talent for encouraging even the shyest dogs to come out of their shells and play alongside him.While Lewis can be a bit nervous around people at first, he clearly wants to be brave. With gentle patience, he is steadily warming up to shelter staff and volunteers and showing more of his sweet, endearing side each day.Lewis enjoys the company of other small dogs and has done well sharing a room with several small male dogs. He has also spent time in the play yard with small female dogs and enjoys their company too. A home with another friendly small dog could be a great match for him.Lewis is looking for a patient, kind adopter who will help him continue building confidence and let his playful, goofy personality shine. PIPER (Grass Valley, CA) Piper is a funny, endearing 15-pound, 8 year old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix. She thoroughly enjoys belly rubs, strolls, playful pursuits, catching toys, and sun-bathing in the yard. Piper has been socialized by our outstanding foster, Noel, and gets along with small dogs. However, Piper favors an exclusive companionship with a special someone. If her special someone has other dogs, Piper will confidently assume an alpha role. She has subtle possessiveness that emerges when it comes to sharing attention from her foster. Piper is wonderful on both car rides and leashed walks. She barks infrequently, but can still be a reliable guard dog. Her foster wholeheartedly endorses Piper's remarkable cuddling abilities.
