Story
Lucy and Ricky are ten year old chihuahua mixes who came from the same hoarding situation. Lucy is a pretty friendly gal but Ricky takes just a minute to get used to new people. Once you scratch the top of his head he is good to go. Lucy just loves to lick and will take any opportunity she gets, even if it's a stranger. These two have about two teeth apiece after their dentals, so they eat soft food. They love treats and attention. Lucy will play with a toy when she is in the right mood, but mostly these two just need a lap for snugglin'. They do pretty well in the house when they are let out regularly. Ricky walks great on a leash. Lucy is a work in progress. They currently eat and sleep in kennels. Ricky is on a couple of heart medications, which he takes eagerly with some lunchmeat. Ricky is not fond of kids, and neither of them like big dogs who run around. They do great with other small dogs. We'd sure like to find them a home where they can spend their retirement together, since they do seem to prefer each other's company despite their brief periods of bickering, much like their namesakes. The fee to adopt them together is $400 fully vetted. Application can be found at fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/.

Story
Snubby is a 14-pound male Rat Terrier with a shy demeanor. He likes to take his time to observe and get comfortable with humans before he engages. Although he's still a bit reserved, Snubby is friendly with other dogs, slowly warming up to his surroundings each day. He hasn't yet tapped into his full puppy playfulness, but his bravery is growing daily, and soon his puppy energy will begin to shine through.Snubby would thrive in an active family that can match his energy levels and help him develop into the spirited and joyful dog he's meant to be. Each day with Snubby promises new steps towards confidence and fun.Currently waiting for adoption at National Mill Dog Rescue, Snubby is ready to find a loving home that can guide him and share in his journey of growth and happiness. If you're looking for a sweet companion with a lot of potential, come meet Snubby and see if you might be the perfect fit to help him flourish.- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
