Story
This is lamia, a nearly 1 year old, ~10lb terrier mix we adopted from a county shelter last year. unfortunately our circumstances have changed and it would be in her best interest to rehome or have someone long-term foster. Lamia is a very playful and motivated dog who loves people but has some trouble warming up. She is affectionate with people she trusts but is firm about her boundaries, she does not like being touched by strangers. She does enjoy interacting with dogs and had no issues living with our dogs or cat, however because of how she is with boundaries, I would not recommend having her live with young children. Lamia also has many quirky parts of her and has always made us laugh with her silly antics and expressions. She is medium energy, has been crate trained, potty trained and walks well on leash. Lamia would do best in a home with someone who has the time and is willing to be patient. as well as a home without small animals/rodents as she will chase.

Story
My baby is 17 years of age I got him in 2009 my mom found him on Craigslist. He’s a sweet dog and still really good with being house trained. He’s never lived with any other animals but I have a kid now she’s 3 and he’s been pretty good with her. He mostly lays around and is blind on one eye. I am so busy with work, business, and my kid so I just don’t have a lot of time. I just want a loving home for him somewhere he is safe and able to be cared for.

Story
Heartworm Prevention is given on the 9th of each month Imagine losing the person who was your whole world… and then being taken somewhere cold, loud, and terrifying—completely ripped from the only life you’ve ever known. That was Dean. His owner died.  He was confused, scared, and desperate to just get back to some sense of normal… only to be dumped like trash at a shelter that no one wanted.   We don’t know all the details, and we aren’t here to rush to judgment—but seriously… what is wrong with people?! Someone, anyone, who knew Dean or his beloved owner could have stepped in. But no one did. Until CTDR. That’s when hope finally showed up, and Dean got the second chance he deserved.  When this guy ended up at a shelter after his owner died and no one stepped in to help him, we felt called to help him find his next chapter in his story of being the bestest boy around.   We love Dean and he needs a home asap! He is fantastic!  Dean doesn’t ask for much.  He’s quiet, loving, would appreciate some treats and attention in his golden years. He likes to meander around the house and yard, loves soft and fluffy beds and is looking for a warm bed to curl up on and be loved in for his senior years!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2025, 12:21 am

Story
Ruby - Chihuahua Mix - Female - 8.5 Years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Ruby: Ruby and her sister Pearl are adorable Chihuahua mix girls who have been returned to us  as their owner became very ill and unable to care for them. Ruby is more of a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix (as opposed to Pearl, who is has more Italian Greyhound in her = one has short legs, one has long legs...) Ruby is moderately active and curious and quite friendly and outgoing, they  both love to meet new people. They do well with other dogs after proper introduction, we have not observed them around cats though. They are house and crate trained and are still getting the hang of that leash-walking business, but both are smart and learn quickly.  Ruby tends to be a bit more snuggly than her sister.. We have only observed them around older kids, so a family with middle school kids or older would likely be fine. As they have spend most of their time together, we assumed they were a bonded pair - that cannot be split up, but a trial separation (Ruby went to another foster she already knew, with familiar-to-her dogs) proved that they are not bonded but do need one or more dogs to keep company. Both dogs are doing very well separated, but with other dogs. Both dogs however NEED a very securely fenced in yard as they are Houdini's. Ruby and Pearl will find the smallest weakness in your fence and take very little time to dig our or under a fence with soft soil underneath. They are also quite "slippery" at the front door, so a home with small children will increase their escape success. Ruby has light sensitive eyes that cause her to squint outside, medical causes have been ruled out, but it doesn't make for the prettiest photos taken outside. So, Ruby is looking for a moderately active home, preferably together with her sister, but at minimum with another dog of similar size and temperament. She is more of a parallel companion. Ruby can handle regular working hours if she get enough attention around those hours. She MUST have a very secure fence and preferably a gated front door to keep her safe. Ruby has her own Amazon Wish List for items that would make her stay in her foster home better: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/DPM3DGATVU22?ref_=wl_share ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***
