Story
Meet Woofgang Puck, or just Puck for short! This lovable 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is a little bundle of joy, possibly with a sprinkle of Beagle in his genes. At first, Puck may come off as shy, but give him a moment, and his playful side will shine like a star! Puck adores his toys and loves to get into some light-hearted trouble—just picture him as the life of the party! He enjoys his naps, but don’t let him miss out on the fun; after all, who wants to snooze through an adventure? He loves being outside, but keep an eye on him—if the yard isn’t secure, he might go on his own mini explorations. And be careful! If a door is left open, he’s ready to dash out! When it comes to other dogs, Puck needs a little help. He has a tendency to “assist” them with their meals, which can be quite annoying. His friendly greetings can be a bit much—he barks, jumps, and wags his tail enthusiastically, which may confuse his canine pals. With some training, he can learn to tone it down. He’s also learning how to handle his protective instincts, but if you have other pets, be prepared to guide him through it. Puck is quite the jumper when he’s excited and might unexpectedly leap onto you, giving playful nips at your legs! He listens when corrected but often forgets the rules once the fun starts again. While he’s crate trained, Puck feels much more comfortable snoozing on a cozy bed rather than being confined to a crate. Sleeping in your bed isn’t something he’s into just yet. The good news is, he’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go out. Puck does have a heart murmur and takes medication twice a day for it. He can get a bit anxious, especially when being picked up or during car rides, and sitting on laps isn’t really his scene. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. With your support, Puck will be ready for short hikes and exciting adventures with his favorite human! Puck has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He also had a recent dental and lost a few teeth. Story
Meet Fred — better known as Handsome Fred, a tiny Chihuahua with a huge comeback story. When he first arrived in rescue, he was heartbreakingly thin, exhausted, and struggling to survive. A vet visit finally revealed why: Fred has EPI, a condition that makes it hard for him to absorb nutrients. With a simple enzyme powder added to each meal, everything changed. Now a healthy 7½ pounds, Fred has blossomed into the bright, joyful little dog he was always meant to be. Fred is a professional lap dog who believes every seated human is simply a throne waiting for him. His signature move is an almost 180 degree head tilt when he’s curious or confused — a habit from his sick days that he’s kept because, frankly, it’s adorable. Now that he feels good, he’s making up for lost time: squeaky toys, bouncy toys, rolling toys… if it moves, Fred wants to play with it. He loves other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine buddy who can show him the ropes, since he’s still learning boundaries and can play a bit rough. Running humans confuse him, and he may chase and grab a pant leg if he feels left behind, so a calmer home without very young kids is best. Fred is doing great with potty training, still learning overnight routines, and may try to scale a baby gate if it means getting closer to his people. At his core, Fred is all heart — affectionate, silly, loyal, and finally getting to enjoy being a puppy. Now he just needs a family who will love him for the rest of his life Fred has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Fred, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text Cathy at 801-598-0771 or email cv-sandy@hotmail.com.

Story
Meet King Julian, a 10-year-old Chihuahua who is ready to rule your heart (and sturdiest windowsill). With a look that suggests he was “put back together by memory,” Julian is a unique masterpiece of senior charm and goofy affection. The Neighborhood Watch: Julian takes his royal duties seriously. He will spend his afternoons perched on the window sill, keeping a close eye on the neighbors and waiting persistently for his favorite person to return home. Toothless & Tender: Our King recently had all his teeth removed, but that hasn’t dimmed his smile one bit! He is incredibly snuggly and loves to show off his happy grin. A mixed diet of kibble and pate would please his lordship greatly. The “Jenga” Shake: He sports a classic Chihuahua tremor that makes him look like a Jenga player pulling out a precarious win-or-lose piece. It’s just part of his tiny, vibrating charm! Social Standing: Julian is a diplomat. He is friendly with other dogs and largely indifferent to cats, though he’d certainly appreciate being the “final and favorite heir” to your throne. King Julian is a work in progress when it comes to his palace manners.” He is currently working on potty training and has a tendency to mark, so he needs a patient human who can help him stay on track. Ready to serve your new King? Julian has integrated beautifully into an established household and is just looking for a permanent lap to call his own. Julien has been neutered is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped.
