Story
Meet Tres, our almost 2-year-old sweetheart. He is a lovable mix, half toy poodle, a quarter chihuahua, and a quarter beagle. We are looking to rehome him to a stable, caring home where he can continue to grow and be loved the way he deserves. Tres is house trained, great with kids, and does wonderfully with other pets. His personality is affectionate, playful, and gentle. He loves going to the dog park, enjoys walks, and is a big fan of cuddling on the couch. Tres would thrive with someone who can give him daily interaction, walks, and lots of love. He has been a wonderful companion in our home, and we want to ensure he finds a family who will treat him as one of their own.

Story
KenMar Rescue’s: Avery APPROXIMATE AGE: 2 yrs and 6 months Apx DOB: July 28, 2023 CURRENT STATUS: AVAILABLE, taking applications OVERVIEW Avery is an absolute sweetheart! Wherever you go, she goes. She’s your little shadow and proud of it. This good girl is incredibly cuddly and thrives on affection, happily curling up next to you for snuggles after following you around all day. Sweet Avery has a gentle, loving nature and forms strong bonds with her people, making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. With her gentle personality and affectionate heart, Avery will bring endless love, comfort, and joy into her forever home. Avery is approximately 2 years and 6 months old and weighs 7 lbs. She may gain a few pounds but will be a small dog. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all shots. Her breed blend is Toy Poodle. A DNA test, if done by her new parents, may yield more information. Avery is a low-shedding breed blend and leans towards being hypoallergenic. However, her grooming needs will need to be a priority for her forever family so that her coat does not get matted and remains properly maintained. This dog is available for adoption through KenMar Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is email info@kenmarrescue.org to request an Adoption Application and put “Adoption Application Request for Avery” on the subject line of the email. ADDITIONAL DETAILS The following information is the most recent update we have received from Avery’s foster parents. We have made this information available to help you, our adopters, learn more about Avery prior to inquiring about a meet & greet. Please read thoroughly before reaching out to us—this will help reduce the number of emails we receive every day and in turn, allow us to respond to the emails we do receive more quickly! Please note that a dog's behavior often varies from one environment to another, and a decompression period in a new environment can last days to months. General Personality: Avery is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and cuddly. She is very gentle. She has a soft, mushy personality and thrives on love and attention. Avery is curious and friendly, especially when meeting new people and dogs! She wants to say hello to everyone she sees. Daily Routine: She typically wakes up around 7 am, goes to the grass patch in the backyard to relieve herself, then eats breakfast. If the weather allows, she goes for a morning walk. In the afternoon another walk depending on the day, with playtime and rest in between. Early dinner is around 3-4 pm. About 45 minutes after her meals, she has a bowel movement. After evening playtime and relaxing, Avery sleeps through the night in the bedroom in her crate. Is the dog housebroken? Yes, to our environment, floor plan and routine. Behavior Around Dogs: Very polite and playful. Please note: There are no cats or kids in her foster home. Energy Rating (1 = very high; 5 = very low): 3 Leash Walking Rating (1 = difficult; 5 = perfect): 4 Leash Behaviors: Avery enjoys going on walks and is very curious about her surroundings. She does pull a bit at the beginning of walks, especially when she is excited, but tends to settle and walk more calmly as the walk goes on. She is very interested in people and other dogs and often wants to say hello, but she has been polite and appropriate during greetings. She is still learning leash manners and continues to improve with consistency and guidance. Crate Rating When Left Alone: Enjoys spending time in her open-door crate filled with toys and cozy blankets to nest in. Does the dog sleep through the night? Yes Other Quirks: Eating small portions throughout the day to build up her appetite as the vet has stated she should gain a few more pounds to reach optimum weight. What makes him/her happy? Avery is happiest when she is close to her people. She loves cuddling, being nearby, and following you from room to room. She enjoys going on walks, meeting new friends and dogs, and exploring outside. Playtime with her toys also makes her very happy, as does having a consistent daily routine. What makes him/her nervous or unhappy? Avery can be startled by loud or sudden noises such as vacuums, or unfamiliar sounds outside. She may bark briefly when she hears people or loud noises outside, but she settles with reassurance and redirection. Other Displayed Behaviors and Information: Knows the “Sit” command and will sit pretty for her food bowl. Current Walking Device: Harness with leash and ID tags attached to her collar. Currently Eating: Taste of the Wild Venison or Salmon flavor mixed in with canned pumpkin and a hard boiled, crumbled egg. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING? Story
Zsa Zsa is a 5-ish-year-old Maltipoo who is just beginning her fresh start. After a recent haircut, she’s feeling much more comfortable and is settling into foster care. She can be a little shy and nervous at first, but with patience and a calm environment, she’s starting to come out of her shell. Zsa Zsa does well with other dogs and would likely be happiest in a quiet, adult-only home. She is not suitable for a home with children, and cats. She Does NOT like CATs! Zsa Zsa is looking for a gentle, understanding adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to build trust and confidence. With the right home, she has the potential to be a loyal and loving companion. ##2623173##
