Story
Mavis - 8 years old, small, toy poodle, Woodstock Ms. Mavis is a sweet, soft-souled girl with a quiet presence and a heart full of love waiting to bloom. Mavis is being fostered in Woodstock, IL. She is a bit shy at first and tends to observe the world from a safe distance, but with time and reassurance, her gentle nature shines through. This docile pup will thrive with a patient, understanding human who’s willing to move at her pace and celebrate small victories with her as she learns that humans are good. She doesn’t ask for much—just kindness, consistency, and a calm environment where she can feel secure. Once she begins to trust, Mavis shows her affection in subtle, tender ways. Although very small (only 10 pounds), Mavis loves the company of other pups (calm and sweet pups), and we have found that the companionship of another animal helps her to feel brave. If you’re someone who believes love grows best when it’s nurtured slowly, Mavis may be the perfect companion to share your heart and home with. Mavis has an adoption fee of $600. If you feel that Mavis might be the gal for you, you can contact Sara Sigrist at sara.sigrist@comcast.net or fill out an application through Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue. Thank you for considering adopting from a rescue!!

Story
Meet Tarjay, the 12-year-old Toy Poodle who proves that age is just a number and a little sass goes a long way. Transferred from Chicago Animal Care & Control, she comes with a grade IV/VI heart murmur, but don’t let that fool you — Tarjay still runs the show with her feisty flair. Think of her like your favorite Target run: comforting, familiar… and always with a little twist you didn’t see coming. She loves cozy snuggles, gentle pats, and hanging out with her favorite people — but she’s got opinions, and she’s not afraid to share them. Want to pet her on your terms? She’ll let you know. Want to steal the blanket? Better think again. Tarjay is a perfect mix of warmth, charm, and just enough spiciness to keep life interesting. If you’re ready for a little senior sass and a lot of love, Tarjay is ready to move in and show you how fun golden years can really be.

Story
About Me: Name: Frizzy Breed (or best guess): Poodle mix Approximate Age: 3 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 8 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: stray/lost dog Profile:  Frizzy was found as a stray/lost dog in Milwaukee County and no one came for him so he is looking for a new family.  We don't have a history or background on him and breed/age are our best guesses.  Frizzy is an active and social dog just waiting for a home of his own. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS January 22, 2026, 12:33 pm

Story
Jacob is a tiny little puppy know as a Chorkiepoo, a chihuahua/yorkie and Poodle pup. He is a spirited little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us. He is a happy guy who loves to play with his mates. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would. He does like to vocalize so he will be best suited for a home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Jacob is a little guy causing him to be more fragile, He can't be in a home with little kids but would be fine with older kids. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Jacob important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Jacob is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $600..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Liam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in and to the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate, please fill out an application for adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via email/ Do not call. Story
Ringo Is An Awesome Puppy Saved From The Puppy Mill. This handsome boy was destined for a sad life as a stud in a mill. Thankfully the breeder was discarding him and we got him and his siblings safely out and into our rescue. Despite his rough start, Ringo is a touch shy but warms up pretty quickly. He will be an awesome member to any committed forever family. He will blossom with love and will do well in a home with another friendly respectful dog companion. Like all puppies he will need structure and a patient loving home. We recommend training for all puppies not only to give the puppy learning skill.
