Story
Ichabod is a great dog. We got him from the Denver Dumb Friends League. He is about 4 years old. He is a very loveable, fun, cuddly hound dog! He actually loves warm hugs and will rest his paws and head on your shoulders when you kneel down next to him. He needs a home that has outside space and loves taking their dogs out and about. He likes to be on the move! His nose guides him everywhere. He is amazing with our 3 kids and other dog. He likes to chase the cats to the safety of their room. He is kennel trained and house trained. Our living situation is changing drastically and it would not be a good fit for him.

Story
Hi there, I'm Dude! I've got a heart full of love and a spirit that's eager to play. I'm the kind of dog who loves to be around people, making everyone feel special with my sweet nature. I'm also good with other dogs, so I'd be a great addition to a family with other furry friends. I'm just a friendly, sweet guy looking for a forever home where I can share my love and companionship. Adopt me, and let's create beautiful memories together! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2013232##

Story
Meet Churro! This sweet 2-year-old beagle/border terrier mix is looking for his forever home. Churro has had a difficult start to life - he and his sister were surrendered to a person as young puppies and did not receive much positive human interaction. Understandably, this has made Churro a very shy and nervous boy. But Churro loves other dogs and gets all his confidence from canine companions. When around other dogs, he really comes out of his shell! He enjoys playing, though he can be a bit spazzy and fast which leaves his playmates in the dust. Churro will need a very patient, adult-only home with no children. His new family must allow Churro ample time and space to learn to trust at his own pace. Confident resident dogs are ideal to help Churro continue building confidence. He will also need a securely fenced yard, as his terrier instincts make him prone to chasing small animals. While Churro may not become the world's cuddliest dog, he has so much love to give to a patient, understanding family. He just needs extra help overcoming his shy nature to thrive. If you can provide the right environment for this sweet boy, apply to meet him today at www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication!
