Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cooper is a 2-year-old goofball with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He might be a little shy when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you—once he realizes you’re there to give him all the pets, he quickly blossoms into your most loyal best friend. This sweet boy just needs a moment to warm up, and then his silly, playful side shines through. Whether he’s making you laugh with his goofy antics or leaning in for affection, Cooper knows how to win hearts. He absolutely loves attention and will happily stick by your side once he feels comfortable. Cooper is also a huge fan of couch time. After some fun and play, he’s more than ready to curl up next to you, soak in the pets, and enjoy a cozy night in. He’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, making him an ideal companion for both adventures and relaxing evenings at home. If you’re looking for a dog who will form a deep bond and reward your patience with endless love (and laughs), Cooper is your guy! Cooper has such interesting features, we decided to DNA test him. View his results in his pictures! Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. Story
💖 Meet Lydia: Ready for Her Quiet, Devoted Forever Home Lydia is a stunning 3-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix with a heart shaped by resilience and a deep capacity for love. Found abandoned in a Florida dumpster with her brother, Lydia has spent far too long moving from one temporary situation to another. Now, she’s truly ready for what she’s always deserved—a stable, loving home where she can finally exhale and feel safe. Lydia thrives in a calm, secure environment and is looking for a patient, experienced adopter who understands that trust takes time. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she blossoms into a deeply loyal and devoted companion. The bond she forms is special—quiet, steady, and incredibly rewarding. Currently, Lydia is participating in training, and she is absolutely shining. Her trainers are continually impressed by her intelligence and growing confidence. She’s learning valuable life skills, walking nicely on a loose leash, staying focused on her handler even around distractions, and excelling on field trips. With each session, her confidence continues to grow—she’s truly one smart cookie! Lydia is ready to prove that the dogs who’ve been through the most often love the hardest. Give this deserving hound the chance she’s been waiting for, and you’ll gain a loyal best friend for life. 🐾💖

Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm
