Story
This is CJ! Cj is about a year old and weighs 33lbs. He is good with cats, kids, and other dogs. He would do best with another dog in the household. Cj is very sweet, loving, and never meets a stranger. He does need to be crated when unsupervised because he is a chewer (age related). He is completely vetted and ready to find his forever home! Story
Check out our Facebook page for more pics! Bruno is a 5-year-old sweetheart who is quickly winning over everyone he meets. After recently returning to our rescue through no fault of his own (owner was widowed and unable to care for him on her own), this handsome boy is adjusting beautifully in foster care and showing us every day what an amazing companion he is. Bruno is the kind of dog who just wants to be part of the family. He loves people, enjoys spending time with other dogs, and absolutely lights up when it’s time for a car ride. Whether he’s exploring the yard, going for walks, or soaking up attention from his foster family, Bruno is happiest when he’s near his humans. His foster family says he has been an absolute joy to have back in their home again. He’s house trained, crate trained, walks great on a leash, and settles in nicely to daily routines. Bruno has also done wonderfully with the teenagers in the home (who were 9 years old the first time Bruno was there in 2022) and other dogs in his foster home. He has not yet been around cats while in our care, so we do not currently know how he would do with them. Even though Bruno was up-to-date on his vetting when he was returned, as always we took him to one of our 11 vet partners for a thorough exam. In addition to his wellness exam, Bruno had a heartworm test which also tests for other tick borne diseases and parasite screening. All negative, good news. We also had the vet administer the Lyme and Lepto vaccines. Bruno is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his rabies and distemper parvo vaccines. One thing we’re especially happy about is that Bruno has already started gaining back some much-needed weight since returning to rescue. When he came back to us, he was about 9 pounds under the healthy weight he was when originally adopted four years ago. (40-43 lbs). His foster family has been helping him safely regain weight with high-quality nutrition and multiple smaller meals throughout the day, and he’s already looking and feeling better. Even after his world was turned upside down, Bruno continues to greet life with a wagging tail and a sweet spirit. Like many dogs going through a major life change, he can occasionally feel a little anxious, but he’s settling in more every day as he realizes he is safe and loved. We’ve also sent off a DNA test just for fun because honestly, your guess is as good as ours on his breed mix! But we feel confident he has a good bit of basset hound. We can’t wait to find out in a couple weeks. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will happily ride shotgun on adventures and curl up nearby at the end of the day, Bruno may be your perfect match. Story
Meet Panini Press. Panini Press is an 8 year old, 30 lb beagle who was found as a stray alongside two other beagles. Despite whatever life looked like before this, he’s remained incredibly friendly, affectionate, and easy to handle. He’s a classic beagle through and through… nose to the ground, always following a scent, and ready to explore wherever his sniffer takes him. He would love a home where he can stretch his legs, go on walks, and enjoy the world around him. Panini Press is very affectionate and loves being close to people. He happily snuggles up beside you and will absolutely crawl right into your lap if given the chance. He’s easy to leash, easy to walk, and overall just a very pleasant little guy to spend time with. He’s treat motivated, takes snacks gently, and while he may not know many commands yet, he’s engaged and eager. Since he came in with other dogs, he has shown dog-friendly behavior, though we always recommend proper meet and greets with resident dogs. Panini Press will likely need future dental care due to dental disease, but that hasn’t slowed him down at all. He still has plenty of personality, curiosity, and affection left to give. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet/adopt, visit us in Greensboro, NC from 12-4pm any day except Tuesdays; no appointment needed.
