Story
It used to be that a cat’s diagnosis of FIP was the worst of all news; it was 100% fatal. A research microbiologist tried a medicine being developed to fight Ebola and found it cured FIP. Though it was not yet FDA-approved, cat lovers worldwide obtained this medicine and started saving the lives of their kitties. Sprinkles and Mickey were two of the very early “FIP Warriors” who were cured with this medicine. When Sprinkles suddenly had one of her big blue eyes turn brown, the eye vet said it was FIP. A friend knew someone treating a FIP cat with a new drug. Once on the medicine, Sprinkles got better immediately and has never looked back. When she was halfway thru her three-month treatment, we discovered Mickey had the same blood markers as she did. He was losing, not gaining weight. He, too, recovered. This process was so new that we were cautious and kept these bonded kitties under observation for over a year. Thousands of cats have been saved with this medicine, and its use is becoming routine. I have heard that UC Davis is working to get FDA approval so they can bring it to market. I hope so. These two kitties are a perfect bonded pair of opposites. Sprinkles is a smart, energetic, very interactive classic Siamese girl. Siamese kitties are called the extroverts of the feline world. She is a shoulder-loving cat and is super affectionate. Mickey is quieter -more of an artist and poet, as is typical of Turkish Angoras. These gentle cats have delicate bones, fine silky, easy-care fur, and almond-shaped eyes. They are super sensitive, affectionate, and devoted to their people. Unsure about new situations and strangers, Mickey often looks to Sprinkles for reassurance. Sprinkles is the Curious, playful explorer, and Mickey is the Cautious, sensitive lover. Perfect. Both share a love of catnip and treats, bird feeders, windows, and climbing trees with high lookouts. Both are smart, funny, and entertaining. Both are very human-oriented and love to give and receive pets. Both need attention from their humans and are not good choices for people out all day at work. Mickey and Sprinkles are happy around other kitties. We don’t know how they are with dogs. ( Well, we can guess: Sprinkles will immediately set up the rules and Mickey will watch from the top of the climbing tree.) They would be fine with respectful older children. Some family will be so lucky to have their entertaining and loyal companionship. Sprinkles is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Sprinkles (and Mickey), please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com. If you are unable to reach Harriet, please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children to bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!

Story
My family and I are moving out of state soon and unfortunately need to re-home our 3, beautiful, female cats as we are unable to travel with 3 cats, a dog and 4 people. I have reached out to the shelters and they aren't taking in any surrendered animals at this time, so I have been posting on different platforms and hoping to have some luck on here. I'm posting our youngest cat, Yumi, white and black pattern, adopted from the Humane Society on HWY 12 on 1/20/23 at 3mo. old. Yumi is an indoor/outdoor cat that is a little shy and cautious at first, but once you and her establish a relationship/bond she warms up and loves to be petted and cuddled and laying on the sofa to nap. She is fine with large dogs, other cats and kids. If you would like any additional info. please reach out.

Rocky is sponsored by: Barbara McMahon SNAP Cats rescued Rocky from Fresno, CA. Due to his severe CH, Rocky is currently not walking. We are working with him to try to get him on his feet. That said, Rocky gets to where he’s going by crawling and flopping, and he does make it to the litter box most of the time, so that’s a plus!. The minus is that he makes a big mess of litter outside the box trying to cover his business. Rocky eats on his own, whether it’s kibble or wet food, and is a real love. We’re all hoping that Rocky will start walking soon. Hey, years ago we had a cat named Boxes (yes, that was his name) who flopped around for 4 years, then one day decided to stand up and walk. So there is hope! If you’re interested in Rocky please fill out an adoption application at https://www.snapcats.org/category/adoption/catsforadoption/. Thanks!April 17, 2024, 3:46 pm
