Adoption Donation: $200 All cats are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, and FeLV/FIV tested at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment (unless your dog has had prior exposure to cats). A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Rumi is a stunning 5-month-old white kitten with golden eyes who looks just like a tiny polar bear. He is confident, affectionate, and endlessly playful. Like his sister and best friend Roux, Rumi is extremely well-socialized and does beautifully with cat-friendly dogs as well as male and female adult cats. Rumi’s favorite thing in the entire world is playing fetch — and he takes it very seriously. The longer the game, the better. He is not shy at all and will happily climb up and drop a toy mouse right on your chest to let you know it’s time to play. Consider yourself officially invited. He's fully litter-trained and uses both a Litter-Robot and traditional litter boxes with no issues. Rumi is the kind of kitten who brings confidence, fun, and interaction into a home — perfect for someone who wants an engaged, playful companion with a big personality.

Yuki is a loving, cuddly and playful little boy. He came to us as a stray kitten from the Waukegan area. His mother was most likely an outdoor stray that was breeding regularly. Yuki is very gentle, goofy, and would be a great addition to a family home. He is bonded to his beloved brother Snowball. They are picture hugging each other tightly. They boys are great together and are independent at times as well. These 2 would do fine in a home with other cats and polite dogs. They would be great around children as they have alot of practice being arounds kids. Bring home a bundle of double joy with these brothers! Well how did I end up here you ask? Please allow me to share... Many moons ago I was just a cat, shaved, unclaimed and left at the doorstep of a rescue group. Why the hair removal? Your guess is as good as mine. I was colder than normal, confused and in need of some real reform in my young life. I got a card and it said, " welcome to your road to redemption call below for assistance". Best believe, I was on it like a hawk on a mouse. I began my journey through rescue. Now, I am a great gal. Honestly take it from me... I just can also be sassy, spicy, witchy, B$#%@y, even a little twitchy. I like the wild side of life, I wilt in strife and I much enjoy a good hot meal. If it was up to me Id have a warm lap, a warm bed, a warm window sill, and loads of room to romp. I am a fine feline that really needs to be understood by a catish like human. Does that make sense? How else can I spell it out???? I am a sassafrass and a sweetie poe peetie, a sour patch kid, a tangy drink with a dollop of whip cream and a cherry on top! Its alot of personality, I understand. Try walking in these paws! I can hold a good conversation actually at times I am quite vocal with my wicked cool cat calls, other times I am as quiet as a mouse and charming even. If you chose to bring me home, we would have a great time but would need some boundaries thats forsure human peeps! I don't mind certain other kitty cats. I just can't be with other conflicting personalities, as it cramps my cool style. I don't mind dogs but can be a bully once in a while to them! Gotta train those puppies if you know what I mean. I am best with older humans the little ones scare me a tad and vice versa. Consider bringing me and all my personalities home, you really wont regret it most of the time!!
