Story
Jadoe (rhymes with "Shadow") isn't just a handsome face: he's confident, playful, and friendly as can be!Jadoe would happily hang out with people almost 24/7. He loves to chill together, play together, and get pets during the day and curling up to sleep at someone's feet at night. He also loves to talk, and he'll never hesitate to let you know when it's time for food or fun! When people aren't around, fellow animals are pretty good too: although he does try to steal his fellow felines' food and will occasionally insist on being the only cat on the bed, he can frequently be found lounging near his foster siblings while waiting for his humans to finish work.Jadoe is very agreeable, and his foster family thinks he'd likely be good with animal-loving kids, cat-friendly dogs... he even warms up to guests fairly quickly! Although he doesn't like to be picked up, he'll happily take kisses, scritches, and pets forward, backward and side to side. He just loves the attention!Don't think it's all about him, though: when Jadoe hears that a person or pet sounds hurt or upset, he often runs in the room to ask what's wrong. Everyone feels loved when Jadoe is around!Jadoe spent his first few years as a colony cat, but he's not much of a fighter. He is quite patient and tolerant even during things he dislikes, such as being brushed, being kept away from the other cats' food, or spending time home alone. Jadoe needs a home with a big, friendly family who'll love to play, sit, and sleep together with him. You'd never know it from his happy demeanour, but Jadoe has mild irritable bowel disease (IBD). It is well-controlled with his current diet, and his forever family must be able to commit to prescription veterinary food, daily probiotics, and regular exercise. His thick fur also requires regular brushing with the furminator. With the right food and care, cats with IBD can live very long and healthy lives-and a loving companion like Jadoe is totally worth the effort!Like all ACR cats, Jadoe has been treated for fleas and parasites. Jadoe is negative for FIV and FeLV.

Story
Meet Lemur, the charming feline with enchanting round eyes and an adorable face reminiscent of a lemur monkey! This sweet and affectionate boy has transitioned from a semi-feral outdoor life to embracing the joys of indoor living. Now, he's on the lookout for a loving human and a forever home to call his own.Lemur is not your ordinary cat - he's a delightful character with a playful spirit. Witness him chasing his own tail, executing playful somersaults, and displaying his affection by drooling a bit when being petted. Always ready for attention, Lemur eagerly joins you on the couch or bed for endless petting sessions - the ideal companion for cozy TV-watching evenings!Despite his love for interaction, Lemur is not high-maintenance or clingy. He entertains himself with playful gallops down the hallway, acrobatics on cat trees, and indulging in his favorite Yeowww catnip toys. This older gentleman has plenty of energy and is seeking an active playmate to share in the fun - he's excellent with other cats. Additionally, his litterbox habits are impeccable.Lemur does have early-stage kidney disease, a common occurrence in aging cats. However, it's easily managed with a special diet, which he adores, and twice-weekly sub-Q injections. He handles these injections well, especially when accompanied by plenty of pets and treats.Having spent his early days on the streets, Lemur can be a bit shy around strangers and may require an adjustment period in a new environment. In the past few months, Lemur has been gaining confidence around unfamiliar faces, even approaching seated guests to request pets. Once you gain his trust, Lemur promises to keep you thoroughly entertained with his endearing quirks. He's patiently waiting for his retirement home, where he can bask in the undivided attention of his very own human. One charming habit he's developed is standing on his hind legs and popping his head up over the chair arm or bed's side before joining you. His funny face peeking up is sure to bring a smile to your face as he settles in for pets and a cozy nap beside his favorite humans. Lemur is ready to bring joy and companionship to a lucky individual or family - could that be you?!Lemur would do well as a buddy to a friendly, playful resident cat, but he could do well as the solo cat in the home provided he gets all the attention and cuddles he wants :)Lemur had a dental cleaning in June 2023. Due to his early renal disease, Lemur requires bloodwork every 6 months and is next due in January 2024. Like all ACR cats, Lemur has been treated for fleas and parasites. Lemur is negative for FIV and FeLV.Check out videos of Lemur playing and cuddling by following these links:https://vimeo.com/863395004?share=copyhttps://vimeo.com/863395014?share=copyhttps://vimeo.com/908897299?share=copyhttps://vimeo.com/908897444?share=copy

Story
Mowgli is a smart, calm, older gentleman who perks up for all forms of catnip, Churu treats and beams of sunshine. Next to regular meals, his favourite activity is looking out of a cracked window and sniffing the air. After 7-8 years outside, he has fully settled into indoor life and is wonderful company, snoozing during the day and emerging in the evening to spend it close by. He has excellent manners with perfect litter box and scratching pad use, and because he waits patiently for breakfast, he will never wake you up. He prefers self-play and does not associate playtime with his human family. In his years outside, he lost his ears to frostbite, and due to mistreatment from humans, he is wary and will not accept touch. He communicates his displeasure with a short hiss and removes himself. He will thrive in a quiet house without dogs or children. He is also submissive, so he will be best as an only cat or with gentle cats that will not dominate or bully him. Mowgli needs an experienced and patient adopter who understands his needs and boundaries. Mowgli prefers his own routine and requires a lot of patience when disrupting his routine (such as going to the vet).Mowgli is FIV positive and feline leukemia negative. He has had all his teeth removed and requires a senior diet (dry food is fine!). Mowgli needs regular senior bloodwork and is due for his next test in August 2024. Like all ACR cats, he has been treated for fleas and parasites.Cats with FIV can live a long and happy life. You can read more about FIV on our website here: https://annexcatrescue.ca/the-happy-truth-about-fiv-cats/
