Story
Hi! My name is Mr. Buff Orington, and I am looking for my purrfect forever home! I love spending my time watching the birds peck at the window and taking catnaps on my fuzzy, furry blankets. I can be a bit of a talkative boy when I am trying to get your intention. I do like to get a little close and personal at times, so if you bend down to pet me, I will give you tons of face rubs and sometimes even a little kitty kiss! My favorite hobby is chasing wand toys, so taking time to play with me is definitely an added bonus! I am also very helpful at supervising any household chores you may be doing! Note: Mr. Buff would do best in a low key home as an only cat or we think he would also do okay with another laid back cat.Location: The Cat Corner (no-kill shelter)85 Fulton StreetHampton, Va. For an appointment, please 1) fill out an online adoption application first and 2) email: adopt@thecatcornerinc.com to request an appointment. We are also open to the public on Saturdays from 1 pm-4 pm for walk-in meets.More Adoption details: An important part of the process is to match the life-style and needs of the adopter with the individual animal being adopted. Once you have fallen in love with your purrfect match, you will need to complete an adoption application. We have the online adoption application or you may fill out a paper application in person at The Cat Corner location. We do not do "same-day adoptions". Story
I am in FOSTER now! Please reach out to PRAS-FOSTER@NNVA.GOV.Calling all shy kitty lover out there! My name is Meowly Cyrus and I found myself at the shelter with my litter of littles a while back. Now that my babies are weaned and have found fosters and homes, it is time for me to focus on myself. I am SO beautiful and it makes people want to snuggle and cuddle me! I am not that kind of girl though and I like to keep my distance, but be near. While I am not "feral" I am certainly not a lap cat and I won't be a kitty that will want to be picked up and loved on; at least, not in the beginning. I am the kind of lady that needs my space to feel out my surroundings. I like to do things at my own pace and I need an adopter that is willing to allow me to come out of my shell on my own terms. If I am treated properly, I will likely find that I do like human companionship, just at a distance. I may even find myself on your lap at some point! I just need the time and the love to get me to that point. If you are looking for a kitty that is in need of a very understanding and loving home, consider meeting with me. I will not be a kitty that can be picked up and taken into the meeting room. I would like to meet with my adopters slowly and in my cage; my safe place. Due to how shy I am, I may not go to a home with active dogs or young children who have never lived with fearful animals. This is for my safety as well as the safety of my future family.
