Story
Indigo came to Animal Outreach when she was just a few days old after Yolo County Animal Services reached out for help. Born with deformed front legs, she needed specialized care and a safe place to grow.
Indigo has grown into the most adorable, confident little princess, and she has absolutely no idea that she’s supposed to let anything slow her down. She navigates the world in her own unique way and approaches everything with curiosity, determination, and plenty of attitude.
And that personality? INCREDIBLE. Indigo is sweet, social, playful, and LOVES attention. She has been quite spoiled in her foster home (and honestly, we're not sure anyone could resist spoiling her), and she expects her people to keep the attention coming! She has spent plenty of time coming to work with her foster mom, meeting everyone she can and making new fans wherever she goes.
Her purr is also the cutest, squeakiest little purr you have ever heard. Seriously. It's impossible not to smile when she gets going.
Her deformed front legs do mean that Indigo has some special needs and will need a family who understands that she may do things a little differently. Her forever home will need to make a few accommodations to help her safely navigate her environment and continue to thrive.
Some of those accommodations include:
- A large, low-entry litter box that is easy for her to get in and out of
- A carpeted home or plenty of rugs to give her traction and help her get around more easily
- A safe, comfortable environment where she can navigate at her own pace
- A family who is willing to understand her unique needs and give her the support she needs to thrive
Indigo also needs to have another feline friend in her forever home — or even two! She loves having feline companionship and would do best with another friendly, social cat who can be her buddy.
As for dogs… Indigo has made her opinion pretty clear. She is not a fan of the dogs in her foster home and would prefer they admire her from a respectful distance. She could potentially coexist with a calm, cat-savvy dog who is willing to leave her alone, but she definitely isn't looking for a canine best friend.
having special needs doesn't mean she can't have a full, happy, FUN life. Indigo has already proven just how capable she is. She may do things differently, but she is playful, curious, affectionate, and absolutely full of personality.
She may look a little different, but she doesn't let that define her. Indigo is simply Indigo; a tiny, beautiful, determined girl who deserves a family that will love her exactly as she is.
