Story
We are fostering and posting this puppy (9mo, 65lbs) for someone who is no longer able to care for their dogs. He has an incredible temperament. He plays & lives well with other dogs. Not a barker and isn't mouthy. He lies at my feet on days when I sit for 8 hours at the computer, and he is comfortable in his crate at night. He loves to cuddle and is so, so affectionate, but in a polite and gentle way. An incredibly sweet puppy. Confident dog and not reactive or aggressive. Has been run at by overzealous unknown dogs wanting to to tussle and he handled it really well. This dog will not fight. He knows basic commands and responds to our guidance as he learns the rules/manners. He is a joy to train and results come fast. He loves fresh fruit and veg, fetch, and his chew toys (which he would really like to bring with him!) Happy to bring him over a few times to meet, or you could come to us at 87th and Thomas if you prefer.

Story
Meet Penny! We would like to introduce you to Penny! She is beautiful, look at her! Unfortunately, she has been passed around, lost, and confused for most of her first year. Once we found out what she had been through we knew we had to help her! Penny has spent the last couple of months at our foster home. We have seen her go from fearful to a much more confident dog. She still has a long way to go to become the dog we know she will be, but she is trying so hard! Penny will need a home with another young confident dog that has a lot of energy for playtime! Penny loves a good game of chase, and we can’t keep her out of the dog pool! Penny loves all dogs and is AMAZING at accommodating them based on size. Penny will need a family that is very patient and understands that she will need lots of love and guidance. Penny will need a family that will push her to do the things she is afraid to do. Once this girl gets her confidence you will have the most AMAZING hiking partner! Based on some of the jumps, turns, and spins we have seen her do she would be number one in agility! We would also like Penny’s new family to come and visit her a few times before the adoption is final. This will help her with the transition from her amazing foster home to her forever. Kids over twelve only. Cats are unknown Approx. 2 years old and 50 pounds Penny is ready for her forever home since she’s chipped, vaccinated, and spayed! NOTE: Penny is NOT at our shelter. If you would like to meet her, please fill out the application so we can schedule an appointment. We will require a few visits before any adoption is final. This will make the transition from the foster house easier. Want to know more about Penny, meet her, adopt her!? Story
MEET  BIRCH!!! Birch is the SWEETEST, most easy going 2 year-old Pointer/Lab mix! He is timid and shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he shows his sweet and wiggly side. He'll need a bit of patience and a few days (about 5) in a new home before he will start exploring and feeling comfortable. Birch seems to warm up to women a bit faster then men. Birch is a great leash walker! He would love to have daily walks or hikes! He makes an amazing hiking partner.  Birch is housebroken, kennel trained AND doggy door trained!  He is very smart and learns new things quickly. He already knows SIT and STAY. He is food motivated so he's easy to teach new tricks. Birch enjoys his toys, but is not possessive at all. He enjoys a good nylabone or a stuffie to toss around. Birch is great with kids (his foster home has a 7 yr old) and he is GREAT with other dogs. Smaller kids who run and yell a good deal would be scary, so older (over 5) would probably be best. Birch does need to be adopted into a home with another pup, so that he has a buddy to keep him company... preferably one who has happy-go-lucky playful energy to encourage him to show his playful nature. He also does well with Chickens and Cats! Birch is a great lounge dog, and does enjoy being comfy on the couch. He is not allowed on the bed in his foster's home, but we are sure he would love to be a bed dog too!   CHECK OUT BIRCH'S VIDEOS!!  If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com   May 7, 2024, 3:13 am

Once Ava trusts you, she is very loyal, loving girl. Ava would benefit from placement in a quiet household with patient handlers who will give her time and space to acclimate and let her sweet nature bloom. Ava will need socialization and structure to thrive. Ava's rescuer has developed a terminal illness and can no longer care for her.  Ava is available for adoption with her "brother" Bear, listed in a separate post.  If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com  PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue. Story
MEET   ZANE!! Zane is good with dogs of all sizes! Zane has not been introduced to cats, so that is an unknown factor. Zane has been friendly with both males and females, but he does seem to favor females. He is quite friendly and does love affection, but is not overbearing with his attention seeking. Zane would do best in a home with other active medium to large dogs. Zane does have some separation anxiety and does not like to be by himself; he has shown some minor destructive behaviors intermittently. Zane is teachable and responds well to corrective commands, and is doing well with a training collar. Zane will require reinforcement of training and patience while he learns it. Zane loves water and the pool! However, he is not a graceful swimmer in deep water. Zane is very active and playful with other large dogs in foster house; while play can get rough he has not exhibited any aggressive behavior. Zane is great on walks and has not shown any food aggression. Zane has a gentle mouth for treats. He does seem to have minor skin allergies which may require ongoing treatment, but they respond well to medications. He loves chew toys, balls, playing fetch. Zane has been amazing on restaurant patios and social settings ; very nice manners for a big boy! Zane will need continued training but shows amazing potential for a wonderful, well trained big boy!  If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com   May 7, 2024, 3:13 am
