Story
Say hello to Holly!   When you adopt Holly you get Christmas all year long and, who doesn't want a redheaded friend?   Holly is a 15month-old, 42-lb girl who is even tempered and mild mannered but very affectionate with people and dogs.  She will probably be around 45-50 lbs when she is fully grown.   She was found in a box with 4 siblings with children who were trying to find someone who would take them so our foster did.   Holly lives with large and small dogs and does well with them.  She is training on a leash currently but is pretty easy going so learning well.  She is affectionate and sweet.  She is waiting for her family to find her and bring her home.   Because of her color and height she could have some Dachshund and/or Vizsla in her because she is low to the groundso definitely a mix with something else.  She has a sweet face and is very cooperative.   Please go to our website:  4dogsfarmrescue.org/Available-dogs.html to see video of Holly.  If you want to find out more about her, or are interested in adopting, the applicaiton is at 4dogsfarmrescue.org/Adoption.html Holly will come to you spayed and fully vetted. ADOPTION FEE:  $475.00 ##1619239##

Story
Marlie is a happy dog, ready to walk, hike, run, and play. She wants to be with you, doing things. She would be a lot of fun to have as the only dog in the house. She does well on a leash, and loves her walks (and running would be even better!) She cannot be trusted around little dogs, and is aggressive toward other female dogs. She would be a great dog for the right, responsible dog owner. If you want an active companion, and you can give her what she needs, please consider her. She has a great personality, and her one ear down, one up is just adorable!

Story
Meet Rose, the mixed breed (we are guessing vizsla, maybe boxer?). Rose arrived at the Shelter at the end of September and has taken some time to blossom. She has gone out to sleepovers with a volunteer who reports: “Rose was such a fun houseguest this weekend. She loved riding in the car, enjoying both sticking her nose out the window and sleeping in the passenger`s lap. She had a blast exploring every corner of the house, but also settled beautifully. Give that girl a blanket and she`ll tuck herself in for you! She was easy to have around—I could even eat food while she slept in my lap. Her favorite thing in the world was playing with her toys. She carried her stuffy around the house everywhere—it reminded me a lot of Linus and his blanket!”Rose may thrive in a dog savvy home that will give her time to decompress and acclimate. A home with another dog may be a fit after a slow, thoughtful introduction as well as management. Rose`s adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
