Story
Playful and Silly- gets zoomies-SUPER snuggly- loves lounging with a nylabone- good on walks- LOVES LOVES LOVES CAR RIDES!!!!! Honestly, the car is her favorite spot to be, she hops in the passenger seat- curls up- and smiles. Would not need a crate once she knows your home. She has a high ph in her urine (when she urinates, she burns the grass) so she gets one pill once a day and that controls it- ($0.25 per day) Something must have happened in her past (she was a death row dog at a shelter in Oklahoma that we took) that involved guns, or, when you use the hose outside with the sprayer on it. We know this because nerf guns are a no no around Aida- she gets very upset and tries to bite the nerf gun, and same with the hose sprayer. She's totally fine with baths- even the handheld shower head that we give her a bath with- but guns and hoses terrify her. Great family dog, sweet, snuggly, animated, smart, and car rides are her reason for living! No guns, no hoses, no cats, and no other dogs. If you have questions or are interested in a NALA Rescue dog you MUST APPLY TO WWW.NALARESCUE.ORG to be considered! If approved we will reach out to you at the point but please remember to be patient as we are all volunteers. If the dog is posted, it is available for adoption! Once the dog is adopted he/she will be removed from this page. So please NO inquiries if this dog is available

Story
Eris (pronounced Air-iss) is an approximately 4-year-old spayed female German Shorthaired Pointer who currently weighs 42 pounds. After being found as a stray, Eris spent about two months in a shelter before joining GPPR. During that time, she lost about 6 pounds, and we're working to help her regain a healthy weight. She's now settling into foster care and learning what life as a beloved family member is all about. Every day, she's becoming more comfortable and showing off her affectionate, fun-loving personality. Personality Eris absolutely loves people and wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're working in the yard, going for a walk, or relaxing outside, she'll happily tag along as your shadow. She has an incredible zest for life and is always ready for the next adventure. Eris is an energetic girl who thrives on activity and engagement. Once she's had plenty of exercise, she begins to settle, but she is not the type of dog who is content to lounge around all day. She is learning basic household manners and has already started responding to commands like off, down, and no. She'll need a family that is committed to continuing her training with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.   Other Dogs Eris enjoys other dogs and loves to play. Because of her enthusiasm, she may be overwhelming for lower energy dogs at first, but she's learning appropriate play with her foster brother through supervised interactions. Around the House Since Eris came into rescue as a stray, many everyday routines are still new to her. She is making steady progress with her house training through frequent trips outside and lots of praise. She's also learning that her crate is a safe place. She may whine for a few minutes when first crated but is becoming more comfortable as she adjusts to her routine. One thing we've learned is that Eris is not a fan of fireworks or other loud noises. During fireworks, she prefers the comfort and security of being indoors with her people.   The Ideal Home Eris is looking for an active family that understands the needs of a German Shorthaired Pointer. She'll do best with people who can provide plenty of daily exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training to help her become the best version of herself. She has already shown that she is affectionate, eager to learn, and devoted to her people. With structure, consistency, and an outlet for her abundant energy, Eris has all the potential to become an incredible companion.   If you're ready for an energetic adventure partner and are willing to invest the time to help her continue learning, Eris is ready to meet you. Story
Lexie is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she can be close to her people. If you're looking for a dog that wants to be part of everything you do, Lexie may be your perfect match. Lexie loves kids and forms strong bonds with her family. She can be a little cautious when meeting new people, preferring to observe and assess the situation before jumping in. Give her a little time, though, and her sweet personality begins to shine through. Once you're in her circle, she wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're watching television, working from home, heading out for an adventure, or simply relaxing on the couch, Lexie is happiest when she can tag along. She is the kind of dog who thrives on companionship and being included in everyday life. Like any self respecting GSP, Lexie is fascinated by birds and loves patrolling the backyard. She enjoys running around the yard and keeping an eye on everything happening outdoors. While she happily joins other dogs for a lap around the yard, she is much more interested in spending time with her people than playing with canine companions. In fact, Lexie would secretly love to be the center of someone's world. She would be happiest as an only dog where she can soak up all the attention and affection for herself. That said, she can successfully coexist with a calm, respectful, easy-going dog. Lexie can be a little possessive of her favorite people, so she will do best with adopters who are comfortable setting clear boundaries and reminding her that sharing is part of being a good family member. Lexie is crate trained and knows several commands, including sit, wait, fetch, and drop it. She is smart, eager to be involved, and always ready to accompany her favorite people on their next adventure. She can also be a little mischievous at times and has discovered that counters and tables occasionally contain treasures worth investigating. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will follow you from room to room, keep you company throughout the day, and happily snuggle up beside you at night, Lexie is ready to meet you.
