Story
Playful and Silly- gets zoomies-SUPER snuggly- loves lounging with a nylabone- good on walks- LOVES LOVES LOVES CAR RIDES!!!!! Honestly, the car is her favorite spot to be, she hops in the passenger seat- curls up- and smiles. Would not need a crate once she knows your home. She has a high ph in her urine (when she urinates, she burns the grass) so she gets one pill once a day and that controls it- ($0.25 per day) Something must have happened in her past (she was a death row dog at a shelter in Oklahoma that we took) that involved guns, or, when you use the hose outside with the sprayer on it. We know this because nerf guns are a no no around Aida- she gets very upset and tries to bite the nerf gun, and same with the hose sprayer. She's totally fine with baths- even the handheld shower head that we give her a bath with- but guns and hoses terrify her. Great family dog, sweet, snuggly, animated, smart, and car rides are her reason for living! No guns, no hoses, no cats, and no other dogs. If you have questions or are interested in a NALA Rescue dog you MUST APPLY TO WWW.NALARESCUE.ORG to be considered! If approved we will reach out to you at the point but please remember to be patient as we are all volunteers. If the dog is posted, it is available for adoption! Once the dog is adopted he/she will be removed from this page. So please NO inquiries if this dog is available

Meet Fletcher: The Sweet, Soulful Snooze-Buddy You’ve Been Waiting For  If you’ve ever wished your dog came with a “deep thinker” setting, let us introduce Fletcher — a 5-ish-year-old German Shorthair Pointer with the calm dignity of a wise old professor… and the occasional goofy habit that reminds you he’s still very much a dog. Fletcher is a 60-lb sweetheart with eyes so soulful you may find yourself sharing your life story before you realize it. He’s quiet, gentle, and happiest when curled up next to you on the couch or bed while you read, watch TV, or ponder the meaning of life together. He’s a world-class snuggler and an A+ lounge companion. But don’t let his philosopher vibes fool you — he does have strong opinions. For example: He believes squirrels are untrustworthy and must be monitored at all times. He feels very strongly that small dogs might be suspicious until proven otherwise. He is pretty sure the neighbors walking their dogs past his house need a polite announcement (but he’ll settle down quickly if you reassure him they’re not invading). Fletcher gets along great with dogs his own size, and he lights up when meeting new people. Kids? Likely fine, though not officially tested. Cats? Absolutely not. Squirrels? Hard pass. Anything small and scurrying? Also no. Let’s just say he’s firmly Team “No Tiny Creatures in My Space. He’s not big on toys, but he will groan adorably when he’s tired, and he'll reluctantly tolerate the crate—even though he’s certain he has better places to be. He’s also working on perfecting indoor manners: keeping all four paws on the floor, resisting the siren call of the kitchen counter, and proving he is trustworthy without a belly band. (We’re not quite there yet, but he’s trying.) Despite a few quirks, Fletcher is truly a gentle, thoughtful, loving dog who wants nothing more than a calm home, a cozy couch, and a human who appreciates a good cuddle and a quiet companion. He’s loyal, affectionate, and has that special old-soul charm that makes you feel lucky just to share space with him. Story
Mabel walked in with a gentle spirit and a body that has clearly carried too many litters. She is currently in heat and her system is run down. An itchy raw patch on her skin turned out to be a staph infection. She is being treated, but it will take time and consistent care to get her fully healthy. Once her skin has cleared and her hormones have settled, she will be spayed and finally able to close the door on that chapter of her life. Her adoption is already pending, but she needs to reach the finish line medically before she can head to her new home.
