Story
Say hello to Lucy and Ricky, a bonded duo looking for their dream place to live out their golden years! Like Ma and Dorothy on "The Golden Girls", they just can't leave each other! Lucy is a Australian Cattle Dog mix (born Dec 2015). Ricky is a Pointer mix (born Jan 2018).  They are very timid dogs, but will be your best pals once they trust you. Lucy is Ricky's emotional support dog and he just loves to be around her. Ricky's days normally include napping and hoarding the toys. Meanwhile, Lucy spends her day napping and hanging with her people! Due to their size and energy, they need a home with a fenced yard. They both would be okay with another canine friend in their forever home! Every duo needs a "Golden Girls Rose", don't they? Lucy and Ricky are happy to be retiring and look forward to enjoying the good life without young kiddos. Are you ready to welcome them into your home? The suggested adoption donation for Ricky and Lucy is $400. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page, Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2046794##

Story
Hi! My name is Danica and I am a 2 year old (b. 2022) black and white Pointer mix! I am a very cute girl who was rescued from my hometown in Houston, Texas. I only had minutes to spare when I was rescued, at risk of being euthanized any moment. I used to be a stray and wander the streets of Houston, causing me to now be positive for heartworm and being a mom to multiple puppy litters. But since being adopted, I have been put on meds (but to me they just taste like treats) to help me with my heartworm and I am starting to feel like a new woman! I love being with my person, my foster mom calls me a Velcro Dog. I get a little nervous when apart from my person, so ideally I would love to live with someone who is home rather often and will want my company all day every day. I am a super sweet girl who just loves to lounge around with others and occasionally play with my foster brother. I am not a fan of being kenneled, but I am house trained. Please bring me into your loving home and you will receive all the love. The suggested adoption donation for Danica is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Say hello to Reaux, a Pointer mix born July 2020. This cutie is looking for her very own home. Reaux loves to be the center of attention and when you are as cute as her, who can blame her? She loves to play outside chasing squirrels, so she would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She LOVES to have all the attention to herself, so she needs to be the only dog in the home. She does not get along with cats. She would enjoy kids that will play with her and help her try to catch those darn squirrels. Overall, Reaux is a very loving girl and cannot wait to find a home that is a perfect match for her! The suggested adoption donation for Reaux is $300. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Welcome to rescue, Boo!  Boo was born in July 2024.  He is an English Pointer/Great Dane mix, a typical playful puppy in a big boy body.  Boo is good with other people and dogs. He is settling in at his new place and just waiting until he can be adopted and go to his forever home.  He's getting lots of TLC!  Boo will need a home with a taller privacy fence.  We'll share updates and more information as we learn more about him! Please Note:  Boo came to rescue Parvo+ and won’t be able to go to his furever home until released from doctor's care as he will be “shedding” parvo until then. We encourage you to still apply to adopt now so we can start the process! The suggested adoption donation for Boo is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission.
