You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sugar arrived to NJ from Mississippi. Sugar is a sweet, very gentle soul who is beginning to learn how wonderful life can be. Sugar came from a hoarding situation where she did not get much one-on-one attention, so new experiences can be scary for her initially. She's learning so fast and getting a little more comfortable with each passing day. Sugar is somewhat shy and submissive so we are working on building up her confidence. Most of the time, Sugar wants to be wherever her person/people are, however she’s becoming a little more independent each day and will go off to find a comfy bed to nap in. Sugar lived with many other dogs but would do best with a confident, calm dog. She would love a home with a mellow canine companion. Sugar is the sweetest and will blossom in the right home. We are guessing Sugar is a vizsla/black mouth cur mix based solely on her appearance. Sugar tested positive for heartworm in MS so we are treating her now. She is asymptomatic which is a great sign it has been caught early. Sugar will be ready for adoption in April. Sugar is up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Thanks to the care she has received through our rescue partner, Janet has been growing and learning in a safe and supportive environment. This has helped her develop into a kind, gentle, and well-behaved young dog who is ready to continue thriving with a loving family. Franklin was found all alone on the streets, trying to rent the space under someone's house. The homeowners said it wasn't for rent and Franklin, a 2 year old Viszla mix, had to come to the shelter to see if owners would come for him. Unfortunately, no one came. Now he is eager to "own" a home and never have to worry about renting under a home again. Seriously, Franklin is the best boy! He is incredibly sweet, adores people, eagerly seeks their attention, and simply wants to be loved. He's still a little puppy-like, which just makes him even more adorable. Franklin doesn't get along with other dogs so it would be best for him to be the only dog in the home. We're not sure about cats. With some fun stuff to do and some good parents to guide him, he's gonna be amazing!
