🚨 URGENT – Senior Bertha Needs a Hero 🚨 After years of being a loyal companion, Senior Bertha has found herself in a shelter through no fault of her own. Her owner was arrested, and in an instant, the only life she had ever known was gone. Now this sweet senior is at risk of losing everything—including her life. Despite all she’s been through, Bertha has never stopped believing in people. She has the gentlest heart and a wonderfully goofy personality that will keep you smiling. Whether she’s making funny faces, showing off her silly antics, or happily soaking up every bit of affection she can get, Bertha has a special way of bringing joy to everyone she meets. She’s dog friendly, sweet, calm, and affectionate, happiest simply being close to the people she loves. All she’s asking for is another chance—a soft bed, a kind hand, and a family who will cherish her through her golden years. This is not how her story should end. After a lifetime of loyalty, Bertha deserves comfort, love, and the dignity of growing old in a home—not alone in a shelter. Please don’t let someone else’s circumstances become Bertha’s ending. Be the hero who gives this beautiful senior the second chance she’s been waiting for. ❤️ HURRY TEXT KAREN 4136298152

🚨 URGENT: CRIMSON’S TIME IS RUNNING OUT 🚨 At just 10 months old, Crimson should be discovering the joy of being a puppy—not waiting for his life to end in a shelter. Found as a stray, this sweet, gentle boy is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Leashes make him a little unsure, but the moment he’s free from that worry, his true personality shines. Crimson is happy, playful, full of love, and eager for attention. He just needs someone willing to show him patience and help him build confidence. This beautiful young pup has so much life left to live. He deserves belly rubs instead of concrete floors, adventures instead of a kennel, and a family instead of a deadline. Please don’t let Crimson become another forgotten shelter statistic. A foster, adopter, or rescue could be the difference between life and death. Be the hero Crimson has been waiting for. 🐾❤️ PLEASE HURRY TO HELP TEXT KAREN 4136298152

Story
Meet Fanny, a beautiful 6-month-old puppy with a joyful personality and the sweetest nature. This lovely girl is full of life, affection, and puppy curiosity, and she is ready to find the family who will show her just how wonderful life can be. Fanny is a happy, playful and easygoing puppy. She loves having fun, exploring the world and playing with other dogs. She gets along very well with dogs and is also good with cats, making her a wonderful candidate for a home with other furry family members. She is a smart little girl who learns quickly, especially when kind words and a few tasty treats are involved. Like any young puppy, Fanny is energetic, curious and occasionally mischievous, but with love, patience and consistent training, she has everything she needs to grow into an amazing companion. Fanny has already started working on her potty training, and her new family will need to continue helping her learn. A regular routine, positive reinforcement and crate training will make the transition into her new home much easier. She is still a baby, so her adopter should be ready for all the fun, learning and adventures that come with raising a puppy. Fanny’s life did not have an easy beginning. She and her siblings were abandoned in a box outside a shelter overnight. They were just babies, completely dependent on someone to keep them safe. Thankfully, our rescue partner, SOS El Arca Animal Rescue, took them in and provided the veterinary care, shelter, love and attention they desperately needed. Despite the way her story began, Fanny has grown into a happy, trusting and loving little girl. She doesn’t know that she was unwanted once. She simply loves life and is waiting for someone to love. The shelter caring for Fanny is overwhelmed with dogs, and we do not want to see this beautiful puppy spend her childhood growing up in a kennel. She deserves a home where she can play, learn, go for walks, curl up somewhere comfortable at the end of the day and finally understand what it means to belong to a family. We strongly believe in continued training after adoption. Training is a wonderful way for Fanny and her new family to bond while continuing her socialization and helping her develop into a confident, happy and well-mannered adult dog. Fanny is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on her vaccinations and has been Heartworm tested with a 4DX SNAP test. She will arrive with a health certificate. For her safety, she will also go to her adopter or foster family with a harness, collar and two leashes. Fanny has already overcome the hardest part of her story. Now she just needs someone to give her the ending every rescue puppy deserves. If you are looking for a sweet, playful young companion and are ready to give Fanny the love, guidance and security she has been waiting for, please submit an adoption application. For questions about Fanny, please email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com. We will be happy to hear from you and tell you more about this special girl. Fanny is ready for her person. Maybe that person is you❤️

Story
Meet Maple | Apply Here Maple is a 1 year old and 32lb Vizsla mix born and bred in NYC! We helped divert her from the shelter when a family needed to surrender her due to not having time for a pup. She is just as lovely as she looks and has quickly settled into foster care. Her foster describes her as the perfect velcro dog - at home she lives to be by your side whether or not you’re actively giving her attention. She’s still working on her crate training because of her love for *you*, so consistency and a good routine will help her immensely in the longterm! Maple is a really silly girl and seems to enjoy life as a kid would. She’ll roll over for belly rubs, happily nap in goofy positions, or chase her tail when she’s feeling particularly good. Outside Maple is a dream girl ready to explore it all with you. She can pull excitedly sometimes, but is easily redirected simply with her love for her handler. A little work with this and she’ll be trotting side by side in no time! Everyone wants to greet Miss Maple and she wants to greet everyone. She really enjoys being the center of attention in any situation. You can meet Maple and all of our lovely adoptables this Sunday! But don’t forget to submit your application via the link in our bio!   You don’t have to wait for an adoption event. In-person meet-and-greets are available in the NYC area, with virtual meet-and-greets available for adopters outside NYC.   Meet Us at Our Next Adoption Event Where: Culture Lab LIC, 5-25 46th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101 When: Sat Oct 4th Time: 1-4pm   Learn more about our adoption process: www.koreank9rescue.org/adoption-procedures www.koreank9rescue.org/adoption-faq   Korean K9 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit saving dogs from the Korean dog meat trade and overcrowded shelters. Story
This is the story of Mack. Mack was born on 9/12/13 as part of a litter of 6. His Mom was a Vizsla/Hound mix and we have no idea who Dad was. He was the largest pup of the litter at birth. As the litter grew and was nursing on Mom, we quickly learned that she was giardia positive (an intestinal parasite). It was an unfortunate circumstance since we were certain she was passing it on to the pups. Since they were so young when they started showing signs of suffering from this parasite, there wasn’t much we could do other than wait for them to get to an age when we could treat it. One by one, they fell ill and then re-cooperated once treatment started. Mack on the other hand, did not seem to bounce back like the others. In fact, he fell ill with this parasite more than once in his puppyhood. We treated him each time and suffered with him during his periods of dehydration, not eating, and just feeling yucky. More than once, we had to force feed him for more than a week. He had no energy. We were giving him fluids three times a day just to keep him alive. There was a point where we did not think he would make it for certain. But we weren’t giving up on him. I think he knew that, and this caused him to hang in there with us no matter how bad he felt. At 10wks, he weighed only 4.8lbs when his siblings were in the 10-12lb range. Because the parasite took every bit of nutrition we were force feeding him, he was way behind in growth & development. When he finally turned the corner and started eating on his own, he was unstoppable. He would eat every 2 hrs and simply couldn’t get enough. We were elated! At 15wks, he was only about 2/3rds the size of his siblings, but he’d eat like a horse and we’d pump him up with vitamins every day. As you can see from his pictures, he is certainly 1 happy pup to be alive! UPDATE: We have now found it necessary to list Mack as a "Special Needs" adopt. After an oral exam, the vet determined that since he was sick for so long during puppyhood, he will need a yearly dental examination. The enamel on his teeth is not as strong as it should be and is chipping off. We've been told that there is nothing to do about it at this time other than give him soaked kibble as meals. He also cannot have any hard treats or toys as that will only promote the chipping of the enamel. He seems very happy and spoiled about this and is healthy as can be at about 55lbs now as an adult :) Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Unless otherwise indicated, puppies are NOT spayed or neutered since our vet recommends waiting until 6mos of age to do so. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. A reputable rescue will have nothing to hide and will answer ALL your questions!!! Please visit our Web Site to see all of the pets we have for adoption. Our site contains information about our adoption process and fees, our application, and answers to frequently asked questions. Please read it carefully before contacting us. If you are interested in adopting THIS wonderful pet, we strongly encourage you to complete our adoption application now. Once we receive and approve your application, we will notify you of approval. The first application to be received and approved will get 1st choice - be sure that your references are available and willing to speak with us. Thank You Visit us at one of our next adoption days. Details are on our site under the "How to Adopt" tab. Hope to see you there!September 23, 2026, 12:13 am
