Miley is a gorgeous, playful girl with a heart as big as her love for water! Found as a small, shy pup at the St. Thomas shelter, she’s grown into a confident, joyful dog who loves playing with other dogs and can brighten anyone’s day with her energy and enthusiasm. She’s the ultimate fetch partner and love bug. Miley is still a little cautious around new people, which just means she’s looking for a patient, loving human to help her feel safe and confident. Once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate and eager to be part of the fun. She’s also fearless in the water, making splashy adventures a guaranteed delight! If you’re ready to give a sweet, playful girl the love and patience she deserves, Miley is ready to show you just how much joy a water-loving, dog-friendly sweetheart can bring to your life. Miley is in our Mutts with Manners training program! This program gives our residents more enrichment and a chance to truly shine outside the shelter—showing who they are beyond the cards that they have been dealt. Miley is a blue star meaning she has just entered the program and is working on basic commands as well as leash manners!

Mae is a laid-back, sweet, 8 year old girl. She is happiest when she can lay on a soft bed, couch, or even across your lap. She's lived with 1 dog her entire life, and another younger dog for the last 2 years. She doesn't like kennels or traditional boarding, but always enjoys time with a Rover sitter where she can comfortably be in someone's home. I've had Mae since she was only a few months old. She has always been on the more timid side, but she does have times where she enjoys being playful and active. Mae is fearful of bikes and children, due to a negative experience when she was younger. Mae also dislikes thunderstorms and can take 50mg of Trazadone to alleviate her anxiety during bad weather. If you are looking for a sweet, low energy, girl who enjoys cuddling and taking it easy, Mae is your girl. She would love nothing more than to get back scratches all day on the couch with you.

Her family faced an impossible choice that no one should ever have to make: when they found themselves homeless and were accepted into a shelter, they learned what so many families in our area have discovered the hard way—most homeless shelters don’t accept pets.Faced with the heartbreaking ?? decision between keeping Atlas or securing shelter for themselves, her family made the difficult choice to surrender her. We’ve seen this story play out over and over again in our community, and our hearts go out to every family forced into this impossible situation.Now we want to give Atlas a happy ending and find her the loving home she deserves.This 4-year-old girl is full of life, love, and energy! Her previous family had her for about five months, and here’s what we know:? Great with everyone—lived with children and did wonderfully, plus she gets along with other dogs and cats? She is active and playful and needs plenty of exercise. She gets the zoomies, rolls in the grass, and staff describe her as wonderfully silly.? Leash pro—walks really well on leash, making her a joy to take on adventures?She loves attention and is very affectionate with people.Atlas was an outdoor dog and may need help with housebreaking and crate training. She needs an active family who will give her plenty of exercise and patience as she learns to live indoors.This sweet girl has already been through so much.
