Story
Esme is a simple girl that came to our attention at Critter Cavalry Rescue as she struggled to find a place to raise her 7 puppies that she birthed.  The odds were stacked but she managed to bring 3 of the 7 puppies through to the place that they could be adopted during the coming weeks.  This girl is 2 years old, weighs 35 pounds and has a sleek, beautiful demeanor that speaks to everyone she meets with a kindness and courage.  Esme is learning how to enjoy the niceties of being an inside dog as she has raised her puppies.  She is housebroken, crate trained and is good with all the other dogs and cats at the foster home.  She is around young active children (boys) and she keeps her calm demeanor through all the activities of the children. She loves people so much and just to be with someone.  She is food motivated and very bright and can learn so much if you use the treat method to win her attention and desire to learn a trick or commands. She is a great medium energy girl that is ready to chase a toy or ball but has not gotten the memo on how to bring it back to the person who threw it. She is wonderful on a leash and has a slight playful side to her. This pretty girl is really not big at all and on the smaller side of a Lab and she demands little from life or her people.  We are wanting the sun, moon and stars for her future with a new family. Could you give that to her?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 20, 2026, 9:56 pm

Story
Mae is a laid-back, sweet, 8 year old girl. She is happiest when she can lay on a soft bed, couch, or even across your lap. She's lived with 1 dog her entire life, and another younger dog for the last 2 years. She doesn't like kennels or traditional boarding, but always enjoys time with a Rover sitter where she can comfortably be in someone's home. I've had Mae since she was only a few months old. She has always been on the more timid side, but she does have times where she enjoys being playful and active. Mae is fearful of bikes and children, due to a negative experience when she was younger. Mae also dislikes thunderstorms and can take 50mg of Trazadone to alleviate her anxiety during bad weather. If you are looking for a sweet, low energy, girl who enjoys cuddling and taking it easy, Mae is your girl. She would love nothing more than to get back scratches all day on the couch with you.

Story
Miley is a gorgeous, playful girl with a heart as big as her love for water! Found as a small, shy pup at the St. Thomas shelter, she’s grown into a confident, joyful dog who loves playing with other dogs and can brighten anyone’s day with her energy and enthusiasm. She’s the ultimate fetch partner and love bug. Miley is still a little cautious around new people, which just means she’s looking for a patient, loving human to help her feel safe and confident. Once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate and eager to be part of the fun. She’s also fearless in the water, making splashy adventures a guaranteed delight! If you’re ready to give a sweet, playful girl the love and patience she deserves, Miley is ready to show you just how much joy a water-loving, dog-friendly sweetheart can bring to your life.

Story
Contact the foster at, jsokley@gmail.comMeet Greta — your ideal match might be waiting! Greta is a great beautiful, gentle soul with a funny, affectionate personality. She’s a curious girl who loves car rides, spending time outside (especially the greenway), and lounging on the couch with her favorite human. Treat-motivated and eager to please, she’ll do just about anything for a tasty snack — especially bananas or doggy ice cream!Greta enjoys keeping herself entertained by tossing her toys up and down the stairs and often strikes hilarious sleeping poses (imagine one paw up in the air!). Despite her goofy side, Greta is a sensitive pup who appreciates a calm, gentle home. Thunderstorms don’t bother her at all, but loud, sudden human noises — even playful ones — can make her uneasy.Greta is making wonderful progress with training. She knows “sit,” loves her crate (as long as the door stays open), and is practicing “stay.” She’s comfortable in a harness and does great in the car, although a seatbelt attachment would be wise, so she will not try to ride by your side while you’re driving. Greta also has adorable, webbed paws — who knows, maybe one day she’ll love the water, too! Finally, her jogging gait is so cute— it’s like she’s trotting at an angle.Greta can be a bit cautious at first and would do best with someone who can give her plenty of time, patience, and encouragement. Due to some separation anxiety, she’d appreciate a home where she isn’t left alone too long at first. Greta enjoys meeting adults and other dogs but needs to live in a cat free home.If you’re looking for a smart, silly, and loyal shadow who will make you laugh and melt your heart, Greta might be your ideal match. More about Greta:-She is also eating very well and gets excited for meal time. -Working through some barrier reactivity-She loves toys and has a hard time picking which one to play with when there are many choices!-She has a shy, cautious personality but opens up quickly when she trusts you.-She is VERY SMART!  She knows Sit, Down,Shake, Leave it, Wait.  She also responds very well to corrections.-We have not done a lot of walks as she was hyper-alert, scanning her surroundings and pulling quite a bit the first couple of days, which was manageable, but I thought I would give her some time to settle before working on leash manners.

Story
MJ is a gorgeous 2-3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer with all the classic traits that make the breed so special. She’s smart, athletic, affectionate, and always ready for her next adventure. MJ loves being around her people and thrives on companionship—she’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you’re doing. As a true GSP, MJ has energy to spare and will do best with an active family who enjoys walks, hikes, runs, or outdoor play. She’s eager to learn and responds well to positive training, especially when it keeps her mind engaged. Mental stimulation is just as important to her as physical exercise, and she’ll shine in a home that gives her both. After a day of activity, she’s happy to settle in for some cuddle time and enjoy being close. She’ll do best in a home that understands her breed’s needs and is committed to providing structure, exercise, and plenty of attention. MJ is currently being fostered in a home with an older kiddo as well as multiple dogs. MJ has strong alpha traits and does not like to be challenged. While she gets along great with neutral and submissive dogs, being an only dog or with an experienced owner and slow intros is recommended. If you’re looking for an intelligent, affectionate, and active companion who will be your partner in all of life’s adventures, MJ might be your perfect match! BilliesBuddies.org/adopt
