Story
Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die... Anyway, off my soapbox because so so many people and rescues in the south are working hard to overcome stupidity and do the right thing so it doesn't happen to other pups! I am a sweet and really gorgeous girl. My siblings and I looked very pittie and weimaraner size/temperament and personality wise. I have a gorgeous apricot colored coat with some blonde highlights (the kind you get at a fancy hairdresser :), mine were FREE :) I am now 3.6 yrs old and in my maturity I have stopped all the puppy antics- no chewing, barking, digging, peeing or pooping all over the place for me!! i am well mannered, will hang out with you while you work and then we can go for a walk or a run and then binge watch Masterchef (I LOVE ME some GORDON RAMSAY!!) until we get sleepy! That is my ideal day, so if you are down for hanging out with me all the time, fill out the adoption application and just give me happy and loving home please!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Dieter is an absolutely incredible and gorgeous Weimaraner! He possesses a truly remarkable balance between energetic playfulness and blissful `chill mode.` His disposition is nothing short of lovely – he is incredibly sweet, cuddly, and enjoys nothing more than curling up close to you, preferably snuggled right on top of you! He`s a fantastic sleeper and loves attention.Dieter is fully crate-trained, but he doesn`t need to be confined. He has full access to his foster`s house. He is exceptionally smart, picking up new things very quickly. He walks quite well on a leash, and is currently working on maintaining consistency to prevent any pulling. He loves his dog toys and never chews on anything he shouldn`t. Dieter is exceptionally friendly with people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He seems largely unconcerned with cats, but squirrels are a different story – he loves observing them from the window and often patrols the trees in the yard. Ideally, he would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard or an owner who is enthusiastic about providing him with plenty of opportunities for exercise; another dog would be a wonderful addition, but it`s not essential. Dieter is simply an outstanding dog, and his future family will be incredibly fortunate to welcome him into their lives. This is a Pay It Forward dog. This means the adoption donation of $550 will help to save another pup needing rescue and vetting. If you are interested in this dog, please complete an adoption application.Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.orgAlmost Home Foundation`s adoption requirements:(1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;(3) Have approval from the residence owner;(4) Have valid ID with current address;(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and`(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, Zelle, or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***

Story
5 y/o spayed female Weimaraner (Annie) born 09/2020 needing to be re-homed.  She has been living in a house with 2 small children (4 y/o and 2y/o), a 9 y/o female Doberman and 2 cats. She has been aggressive with the Doberman since being a puppy and is territorial. Does not bother cats.  Since getting her as a puppy we have tried multiple training courses. One where she was sent away. This was unsuccessful as they tried to crate train and she has terrible separation anxiety so she would scream and distract the other dogs in training- She was sent home after 5 days.  We also tried two in home training courses which were unsuccessful. We have even tried a year of medication recommended by the vet to help with separation anxiety and her aggression towards our other dog which did not make a difference.  We have had a few incidents where she gets aggressive with people leaving our house through the front door and has snipped at two people. She would be best if she was the only dog in home

Story
We’re not sure what Macauley’s mix is — but whatever it is, it’s adorable. 🍌 This cute, sweet, and silly guy wins everyone over with his long curly-Q tail and his goofy charm. He’s got good manners, pretends to be a picky treat eater (not really), and was even willing to go as a banana for Halloween. Macauley’s ready to find someone who loves a little sweetness and silliness in their life. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog. If you have any questions, please email cacc.vol.coord@gmail.com

Story
**SILVER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Pal's Place would love to introduce you to an adorable group of seven precious and perfect pups! Our adoptable "S" litter (Silver, Sapphire, Stuart, Shelby, Stanley, Sable, and Shiloh) are mixed-breed puppies seeking loving forever homes. Their appearance and characteristics suggest a family tree consisting of multiple breeds, most likely belonging to the Hound and Herding groups of dogs. We suspect Catahoula Leopard Dog, Australian Shepherd, and/or Cattledog, Coonhound, German Shepherd, and other similar breeds can be found in their ancestry. These sweethearts are about 3.5 months old (as of 6/16), weigh between 20 and 25 pounds, and are ready and anxious for families! They were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. Since these little squirts were rescued from an animal control facility, we have no information about their parents' breeds or backgrounds. Their listed breed mix and estimated adult sizes are educated and informed guesses. Both parents were most likely mixed breeds, and the puppies in this litter are likely a combination of several breeds. However, we can confidently say that they are 100% puppy perfection! These puppies are a bit large for their age, and we are estimating an adult size ranging from 70 to 90 pounds. Stuart (M) is the largest, weighing in at a whopping 25 pounds. Shelby (F) is the smallest at 20 pounds. There are three females and four males in the litter. They are all very friendly, social, curious, and happy puppies and will make first-rate companions! Given their breed type, we expect them to mature into energetic and intelligent dogs that will do best with active families who can provide outlets for their very high-energy levels and intelligence. Couch potatoes they are not, and they all love to stay busy busy!! They love people and other dogs and are eager and excited to get out into the world with their new families. Puppies are CUTE and lovable, but also require a lot of patience and work as they grow up and learn about the world around them. Remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 2-3 hours or so) and lots of playtime, training, guidance, and supervision throughout the day for the next several months. Please consider if you truly have the time and energy to raise a very young, high-energy working breed puppy before applying. Their adoption fee to the rescue is $475 per puppy. This fee helps to cover their medical expenses while in our care. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and are taking monthly flea/heartworm preventatives. This litter is in a foster home and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for more than three days after an application has been received and approved for a meeting. Please do not apply to adopt unless you are ready to welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying.
