He’s done well in doggy daycare and group play, and he prefers slow introductions to new dogs. He’s fully house-trained, not destructive, and prefers a quiet, predictable home where he can simply relax. He’s still grieving, but with the right person, we know he’ll find happiness again.Koda is a deeply loyal dog, and because of that, he’s cautious with new people. He just needs a little time and some gentle encouragement. His family has described him as a dog who loves in his own way - he’ll happily keep himself entertained but will also check in for playtime or affection, just to remind you he’s there.Koda lost someone he loved, but he still has so much love left to give. Otis`s Compatibility:Dogs - Has enjoyed playing with other dogs!Cats - TBDKids - Best with kids around 8 and upOtis is an 11-year-old coonhound mix with a whole lot of good years ahead of him. He`s been loved his whole life, and it shows.He`s the kind of dog who knows how to just be. Housebroken and well-behaved when spending the day home alone, he doesn`t need constant entertainment to be happy. Give him a noisy toy, a treat, and a bed with the sun hitting it just right and he is one content guy.He walks well on leash and has a history of playing nicely with other dogs. Otis has lived with kids and done well, though we think he`d thrive most with children around 8 and up. A dog this easygoing and well loved doesn`t need much to be happy. He`s settled, he`s sweet, and he already knows how to be part of a family. He just needs a new one.As part of Dr. Roth`s Frosted Faces Program, Otis`s adoption fee is waived and he goes home with a senior blood panel, dental work if needed, a two month supply of Senior Cosequin, and a brand new orthopedic bed.
