Story
Meet Felipe Male DOB: May 23, 2025 Current Weight: 60 lbs Breed: Weimaraner / Terrier Mix Neutered (Fixed): Yes Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Felipe's world changed when the family he thought would be his forever home made the difficult decision to surrender him after only seven months. Through no fault of his own, he suddenly found himself searching for a second chance. While losing his family was heartbreaking, Felipe hasn't let it change his loving spirit. He continues to greet everyone with kindness, hoping that the next family who welcomes him home will truly be forever. Felipe is a friendly, affectionate young dog who loves being around people. He has wonderful house manners and is already house trained, making the transition into his new home much easier. He enjoys spending time with his family, whether it's joining them on walks, relaxing around the house, or simply being nearby. His gentle personality and loyal nature make him an easy dog to fall in love with. As a Weimaraner / Terrier Mix, Felipe combines the intelligence, athleticism, and loyalty of the Weimaraner with the curiosity and playful spirit of the Terrier. This mix is known for being highly trainable, eager to please, and happiest when included in family activities. Felipe enjoys staying active but also appreciates quiet moments spent relaxing with the people he loves. Felipe would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and outdoor adventures Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation through puzzle toys and interactive games Plenty of companionship and family time Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being Felipe has already experienced the sadness of losing one home. He deserves a family that will see him not as a temporary companion, but as a lifelong member of the family. In return, he will offer unwavering loyalty, unconditional love, and years of faithful companionship. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Felipe already has a wonderful head start because he is house trained and has experience living in a home. Even so, moving to a new environment takes time, and every rescue dog benefits from patience while learning a new routine. Felipe is intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to positive reinforcement. Continuing his training will help build his confidence and strengthen the bond with his new family. Felipe will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily exercise and enrichment Continued socialization Mental stimulation through training and puzzle toys Consistent routines and clear expectations Patience, encouragement, and love Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience and consistency, Felipe will settle in beautifully and become the loyal companion he's meant to be. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, companionship, exercise, and routine veterinary care. Felipe will need: Routine veterinary care and annual wellness examinations Preventative flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite protection Proper nutrition to maintain a healthy weight Daily exercise appropriate for his age and energy level Continued training and mental enrichment A safe, stable indoor living environment As a young, active dog, Felipe will thrive with families who enjoy including their dog in everyday life. Daily walks, playtime, and opportunities to explore will help keep both his body and mind healthy. Felipe is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
We adopted Ivy 2 years ago through a shelter in Pueblo, CO. She came perfectly behaved. It was as though she had been in great training for a dog. There were no accidents in the house, no eating food on the counter, she doesn't jump on people and sleeps where she's told to. However, we had to teach her to play; she didn't know how to. She also was not snuggly, but is now. She didn't know how to run around a yard. There were issues with large men that had deep voices; she was afraid and would cower. She often cowered and acted abused if we used even a slight reprimanding voice. There is one issue though; she was found living on the street and loves street life! She lives to run away. She doesn't dig in the yard and knows to stay out of the flowers, but if the gate is open she bolts. When you drive the car to get her she always gets in; no chasing her. We just moved to Kaysville, Ut and live by a freeway and we're worried she's going to get high by a car.

Story
Meet Trooper – The Sweet, Goofy Companion You’ve Been Waiting For! If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving, and affectionate best friend, Trooper may be the perfect match! This handsome, pocket 38lb, 4 year old Pittie / Weimeraner mix has a big heart and a goofy personality that will keep you smiling every day.Trooper is a medium-energy dog who loves going for walks, playing fetch, zooming around the yard, and then curling up on the couch for a cozy nap. He adores his plush toys (especially the ones he can toss around himself!) and enjoys being close to his people—he’s happiest when he can follow you from room to room, just to be near you.Trooper is friendly with other dogs, though he prefers a slow introduction and time to warm up. He would do best in a home with older kids and would love a backyard where he can play and explore. He can be a little uncertain around toddlers and young children. He’s currently learning the ropes of house training and leash manners, and he’s made great progress with structure and consistency. Trooper does best when he has access to a doggy door or regular potty breaks throughout the day. He’s not a fan of being crated for long periods, so a home where someone is around more often—or where he has a safe gated space—would be ideal.Trooper is on daily medication for mild seizures, which are well-managed and don’t stop him from living a happy, active life. He takes his meds like a champ and enjoys his regular vet check-ins.This sweet boy has a few quirks (he can be a bit mischievous if left alone too long and will occasionally indulge in a shoe or two!), but his loving nature and joyful spirit make up for it tenfold. Trooper would thrive in a calm, patient home—maybe with another friendly dog, older kids, or someone who works from home or enjoys spending time outdoors.Once you earn his trust, Trooper will reward you with endless love, loyalty, and laughter. His goofy grin and gentle heart will absolutely steal yours. ❤️Trooper’s Ideal Home:- Older kids or adults only- A yard or regular outdoor access- Another friendly dog (optional but helpful!)- Someone home more often than not- Willing to continue gentle training and give him love and structureIf you’re ready to open your heart and home to this charming, silly, and devoted companion, Trooper is ready to meet you!To meet Trooper, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Trooper's adoption fee is being generously sponsored by Bench Chiropractic <3 If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationJuly 22, 2026, 6:42 am

Story
Chief is getting older and is looking for his last home.  Chief is a sweet dog that loves to just be with you, doing whatever you are doing.  He will hang out with you all day, or snuggle on his pillow.  Inside, he is house trained and knows to alert you when he needs to go out.  Chief is so loving and bonds deeply once he gets to know you.   Don't let his age fool you.  He still has plenty of energy and loves to go on adventures. We can tell that he loves being on the farm but really wants to have a family of his own.  He gets along well with other dogs with proper introductions.  He chases the barn cats so we aren't sure how he would do with a house cat.  He is very smart and wants to please so he may do okay with some training.  He definitely has had e-collar training.  We use a bark collar during the day, but only turned to tone.  He does not bark with it on.  Chief is okay on a leash, but needs a pack leader, or he will drag you around.  He is a strong boy and somewhere learned to pull on the leash.  With firm direction, he will walk nicely beside you.  He does not like his feet touched and is not cooperative with nail trimming.  We have worked with him a bit, but he is pretty adamant about not having them trimmed.  He will need work to successfully trim his nails without sedition. Chief's one draw back is that is not okay with children of any age.  Somewhere in his past, a child harmed him and he does not trust any children.  He needs an adult only family.  If children are to visit, he should be kenneled and not asked to or allowed to interact with children.  Chief is an old man now and really deserves to have a comfy couch to spend his final years.  Can he crash on your couch?  Contact us today to meet this sweet old man.
