Story
Rigsby is a darling, 4 year old, 39 pound, tricolor French Brittany with a personality that’s as expressive as his adorable smile. When he’s happy, his lips curl up and it’s impossible not to fall for him. This sweet boy came to rescue through a compassionate owner surrender due to difficult circumstances, and he’s now ready for a fresh start with a committed, experienced home. Rigsby is incredibly people-centered and forms strong, loyal bonds with his humans. He truly wants to be loved and thrives on connection, making him a devoted companion. He’s also very smart and eager to please, already showing great progress in his foster home with consistent guidance. Like many Brittanys, Rigsby is energetic and needs a healthy outlet (older 10+ children) . He loves to get his wiggles out in a large yard and will require a secure 6-foot fence to keep him safe, especially since squirrels are his absolute obsession! His play style can be a bit vocal, complete with a deep growl. Don't worry that’s all part of his enthusiasm. Rigsby is extremely food motivated, which makes training both fun and effective, though he’ll need continued work on manners. He’s been known to counter surf and can be a bit pushy with resident dogs. B ecause of this, we’re seeking an experienced owner who can provide firm but fair leadership and continue reinforcing positive behaviors. He does well in a crate but would much prefer curling up on the human bed if given the choice. Rigsby also enjoys car rides and travels nicely, making him a great adventure buddy. He may try his paw at digging from time to time, but with proper redirection and engagement, he responds well. Overall, Rigsby is a loving, intelligent dog with a sweet disposition and so much potential. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and have the experience to guide him, Rigsby just might be your perfect match. Th e adoption fee for Rigsby who lives in Parker, CO is $4 00 , which helps offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Rigsby a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org . He is neutered, heartworm negative, on prevention, and up to date on all vaccinations. Your state coordinator/volunteer will conduct a phone interview, home visit and vet check as part of the approval process. Once all 3 have been approved, we will begin the matching process.
