Why this pet is the one for you:Here's some information we have learned about Gus Gus: Behavior history summary:Gus Gus was brought into care in May 2024. During the intake process, Gus Gus displayed growling, thrashing and air snapping when staff attempted to handle him to provide care. While in care, Gus Gus has displayed reactivity towards people including barking and growling. His previous owner shared that he had displayed growling while at the vet and was required to be muzzled. Over time in care, Gus Gus' reactivity has decreased in intensity and frequency and he has developed positive social relationships with staff.Cats:No history while in care. Gus Gus' previous owner shared that he does not mind cats. Dogs:No history while in care. Gus Gus' previous owner shared that his behavior towards other dogs seems "playful" and "scared", and that he is "good with other dogs".Kids:Gus Gus has lived with/been around children ages two, seven and eleven years old, and was described as "loving, playful, and energetic" around kids. All children in household should be able to comprehend and adhere to consent petting (pat, pet, pause) and be aware when Gus Gus may need breaks from handling and petting. Adults in household should expect to provide active supervision while children are with Gus Gus. Behavior consult:Behavior consultation for fear and handling/restraint sensitivity required, may be scheduled pre or post.Additional Information:Due to fearful behavior and handling/restraint sensitivity, Gus Gus may benefit from receiving veterinary care at a Fear Free Certified Practice..
