Story
Rizzo is a very sweet, affectionate girl who loves dog park adventures, running in the yard, and licking the last bit of peanut butter from the jar. We adopted Rizzo three years ago through a rescue, where we were told she had experienced significant abuse earlier in life. Because of that, she needed time to learn to trust. Today, she is playful, loving, and completely comfortable with me and my three children. Unfortunately, despite time, patience, and kindness, Rizzo remains very fearful of my husband. We believe he may remind her of someone from her past. When he comes home, she still shakes, even though he is always gentle and respectful toward her. Rizzo is not aggressive at all—she simply needs a home where she can feel relaxed and safe at all times. We feel she would thrive in a home with women, children, or teens, or with a calm male she does not feel threatened by. Our goal is to find her a loving environment where she can fully be herself.

ADOPTION PENDING-Lizzie arrived from Ireland on December 3rd. She has been retired for some time, but her owner had to move and could not bring Lizzie along. Her registered name is Miss Elizabeth. She is great in every way. She likes to collect everything she can get into her bed (toys, pillows, blankets, etc.) If you are missing something from around the house, Lizzie has probably confiscated it. Lizzie gets along well with other dogs and would be good in just about any environment. She is sweet, quiet, and is great in the house. she only barks if she hears something outside. Lizzie has been chosen for the Greyhound Advancement Center's prison training program, so when she graduates around the end of January, she will know all of her basic commands. ADOPTION PENDING--Susie will arrive from Ireland on February 18th. She is a gorgeous little girl, very good on the lead, and she gets along well with other dogs. She can be a little shy at first until she gains your trust, but is a really happy, and fun girl. Susie has been chosen for our prison training program at Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando. During his racing career, he competed in 23 races and won 4 times. His registered name is Scampie Barry. He has been chosen for the Greyhound Advancement Center's prison training program, so he will know all of his basic commands when he graduates around the end of January.
