Meet Ozzie! At just 10 months old and around 45 pounds, Ozzie is the perfect petite-sized pup with a heart full of love to give. This sweet boy is still coming out of his shell, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch his personality blossom more each day. Ozzie is both crate trained and potty trained, and he has been doing great with his routines. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. While he can be a little shy at first, once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side shines through. One of his favorite places to be is curled up right in your lap, soaking up all the love and attention he can get. Despite a difficult start in life after being abandoned on someone's doorstep, Ozzie has remained gentle, loving, and eager to trust. He is proof that resilience comes in the sweetest packages. Ozzie is looking for a family of his very own—someone who will continue helping him build confidence while giving him the love and security he deserves. If you're searching for a loyal companion who will reward your kindness with endless affection, Ozzie just might be your perfect match. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Smoky(also known as Elsa) Elsa is available as of April 2026.  After a year with her current people, they have made a request to return her to CARE. I asked for a description of what she was like now and they stated: "She is very skittish an scared of everything. She has recently been aggressive towards small dog (wife's dog). Loves children. House trained." Elsa got along very well with my terrier, Piper. She also got along with my other medium and large dog. Everything I wrote below is true for that time.  If you are looking to truly save a life of a girl who truly deserves a second chance with a loving family, Elsa's your girl!    I have changed Elsa's breed to include "Whippet".  This girl is a very fast runner!  I have never witnessed a full blooded Lab run anything like she does!  So she is a "Whipador"!  Elsa is a loving, beautiful, and energetic girl!  She loves to run and play with her foster family pups.  Elsa is  cautious and curious about new people and new situations. It takes time for her to warm up but once she does, she will be by your side at all times. She loves attention from her people!   This pup is smart!  She will  "sit" on command and "shake" with her paw!  Elsa has learned how to fetch a tennis ball and loves to do this! Elsa has also added "Shop Dog" to her resume!  I take her to the framing shop I work at and she has warmed up to everyone there.  They have won her trust with patience AND yummy treats! I feel she would do well with a family with another dog, but she would be ok being the only dog with a loving family that had the time and patience to build on what she has accomplished to this point!  If you do fill out an application, CARE does check to make sure your pets are up to date on vaccines and preventatives.  Please go to: https://care.rescuegroups.org/ and fill out an application for Smoky (also known as Elsa)!  She will be listed by that name!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 8:49 am
