Story
Niabi may be a little shy at first, but give her a day, a few tasty treats, and a little patience—and you’ll discover the sweetest velcro girl you could ask for. Once she bonds, she’s all yours, happily sticking by your side through every part of the day. She tends to connect more quickly with women, while men may need to give her a bit of extra time to earn her trust. But once she feels safe, her true personality shines—happy, playful, and full of life! Niabi LOVES to play, and stuffed toys don’t stand a chance in her world—she’ll happily shred them like it’s her full-time job. She’s also got the cutest excitement hops, jumping up in the air when it’s time to eat or go potty. It’s impossible not to smile watching her celebrate the little things. She does great with other dogs and even cats, making her a wonderful addition to a multi-pet home. And when she chooses her person, she loves deeply—staying close, soaking up affection, and giving it right back. Niabi is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her warm up at her own pace—and in return, she’ll give you a loyal, joyful best friend for life Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Chest cuddles. Backyard zoomies. A gentle heart in a sleek, athletic body… this is Gizmo! He is the kind of dog who quietly works his way right into the center of your life. Want to see this cuddle-champion in motion? Head to YouTube and then come back to read about the boy who just wants to love and be loved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEF5Dyf_TRM Gizmo is estimated to be about a year old, he weighs 38 lbs, and appears to be some sort of whippet mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. What isn’t a guess? His favorite place in the entire world is curled up directly on your chest, paws tucked, eyes soft, like he’s making sure he can feel your heartbeat. If you sit down, he’s there. He doesnt have to be on your chest, he is happy to settle in near by but he would absolutely love to be snuggled anytime you have a free hand and a moment to spare. In his foster home, Gizmo lives with a 65 lb Siberian Husky and a 40 lb Mini Australian Shepherd, and the backyard has officially been transformed into a racetrack. He lives for a good game of chase. They sprint, they loop, they bounce off each other in joyful chaos, and then just as quickly, Gizmo will peel off to sniff the breeze and explore the yard before finding his ideal sunning spot. All signs point to him being solar powered. Play hard. Belly to the sun. Big nap. Repeat. That’s the Gizmo rhythm. He would truly thrive in a home with a yard and ideally a playful canine buddy to keep the zoomies alive. He’s wonderful with kids, there are children that visit his foster home frequently, ages 7 and 4, and he adores them! He greets guests of all ages and sizes with happy enthusiasm, and once he’s settled, he offers his signature hugs. Not the chaotic kind, just gentle, lean-in, full-hearted kind. He loves toys, especially stuffed ones he can enthusiastically deconstruct, and his prized possession is a good chew bone or antler. He plays hard, but he’s respectful. If he grabs something he shouldn’t, he can be asked to “drop it,” and he does so without attitude. No guarding, no drama. Just a young, smart boy still polishing his manners. Speaking of smart, Gizmo learned “sit” by watching the other dogs and quickly realizing snacks are involved. He’s observant, thoughtful, and very trainable with positive guidance. He’s potty trained, crate trained during the workday, sleeps in his crate at night without whining, and rides in the car like a seasoned road-tripper. Once the truck gets moving, he curls into a little cinnamon roll on the seat and naps. On leash, he has the basics down and is steadily improving. He notices the world around him but rarely barks or lunges. He takes cues from his foster’s Husky and is learning that calm is cool. In playgroups, he impressed us with how steady and socially aware he is. With bigger or more confident dogs, he stands his ground without escalating. With pushier personalities, he keeps things light and avoids conflict. His play style is quick and bouncy, then he’s off to sniff something fascinating in the grass. He has some sensitivity to big, sudden noises like vacuums, fireworks, or thunder. Unexpected sounds can make him unsure, and he appreciates reassurance in those moments. What stands out far more than any uncertainty is how deeply he wants connection. He wants his person. He wants his family. He wants to be someone’s best friend in that wholehearted, no-holding-back kind of way. After a good run, he is more than happy to lounge on the couch and simply exist beside you. Adventure buddy outside. Chest-cuddle specialist inside. Gizmo is ready for a home with a yard to run in, people to love, maybe a playful pup to run and race, and a couch to land on when the day winds down. If you’re ready for zoomies in the yard and a warm little heartbeat against your chest at night, Gizmo is ready for you! Story
Meet Peri.   At first glance, she may look like a Cattle Dog/Heeler mix — freckles, expressive eyes, compact 33-pound frame — but her spirit is something uniquely her own. Peri is just one year old, and while she carries herself with quiet beauty, her early life was marked by hardship and mistreatment at the hands of the very people who should have protected her.   And yet… she is still loving.   Peri has spent the past several months working closely with a remarkable professional behaviorist, and the transformation has been incredible. She has learned that not all hands hurt, that gentle voices exist, and that safety can be real. She now approaches new people and experiences with growing curiosity, though she still carries a healthy caution. Her trust is not given away freely — it is earned — and that is exactly what makes the bond with her so profound.   She is deeply affectionate and incredibly sensitive. While she resembles a Heeler in looks, she is not a bold, bossy alpha personality. Peri is a soft soul. She needs a steady, protective human who will move at her pace, celebrate her small victories, and help her continue building confidence. With patience and kindness, she blossoms. And when she chooses you as her safe place, the loyalty and love she gives back are immeasurable.   Peri adores other dogs and thrives in their company. She has shown no prey drive, and her trainer/foster describes her as so docile and gentle that a respectful cat companion would likely be welcomed just fine. She is leash trained, crate trained, and housebroken — truly a wonderful little housemate who wants nothing more than to be near her person.   A fenced yard would give her the security she enjoys, and a home where she isn’t crated for long nine-hour workdays would help her continue to grow. If you work from home, she would happily sit nearby, offering quiet companionship and the kind of empathetic presence that feels almost human. Peri listens. She watches. She connects.   Her past will not disappear overnight. Healing is not a snap-of-the-fingers process. But for the right person — someone with patience, compassion, and a heart open to earning a once-broken dog’s trust — Peri will be extraordinary. She may not be a carefree Golden Retriever personality, but she will steal your heart just the same… freckles and all.   Peri is special. And the person who chooses her will be special too.   To learn more about adopting Peri, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm
