Rex is a 4-year-old wirehair terrier who came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding case in the Central Valley. Despite his past, Rex’s true terrier spirit shines through—he’s energetic, determined, and full of personality. True to his wirehair terrier roots, Rex is smart, bold, and independent. He likes to know what’s going on and isn’t afraid to voice his opinions. He can be a bit stubborn at times (classic terrier!), but that determination also means he’s engaged, alert, and deeply loyal once he bonds with you. With patience and consistency, Rex is a truly lovable companion who thrives on structure and routine. Rex would do best in an adult-only home, and this is actually a huge plus for him. Without the unpredictability of children, Rex can fully relax, settle in, and build a strong, trusting bond with his person. He’s the kind of dog who will flourish in a calm, confident household where his boundaries are respected and his personality is appreciated. He’s best suited for someone who understands terriers—or is excited to learn—and who enjoys an active, interactive dog with character.
