Story
Meet Mercury! Mercury is a gentle soul with the sweetest heart. Once he knows you, he's incredibly loving, loyal, and happiest when he's curled up nearby. He's the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with his people and simply wants to be close to them. Like many sensitive dogs, Mercury can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar sounds, so he's looking for a patient family that will continue building his confidence through positive socialization. He's especially wary of men at first, but with time, consistency, and understanding, he'll reward you with unwavering trust. One thing Mercury absolutely loves is other dogs! He is incredibly dog-friendly and would do best in a home with another confident, well-adjusted dog. Having a canine companion helps him feel secure, and he's happy to follow their lead as he navigates new situations. Mercury can also live with a cat, provided the cat is already comfortable around dogs. If a cat runs, his instinct is to chase, so a dog-savvy feline who won't be intimidated is the best match. He's crate trained, though he'd much rather spend the night snoozing on the floor beside your bed or curled up at the foot of it. On walks, Mercury is a pleasure to have by your side. He walks nicely on leash with only a slight pull here and there, which is easily redirected. Because of his sensitive nature, Mercury is looking for an adult-only home where he can continue to blossom at his own pace. With a calm environment, a confident canine friend, and people who understand that trust takes time, Mercury will become the most devoted and loving companion you could ask for. If you're looking for a kind-hearted best friend who just needs someone to believe in him, Mercury may be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Kirby is a gorgeous 6 yo scruffy terrier mix, with the most beautiful amber eyes. He is a happy dog who loves to play with squeaky toys, take walks and relax on the couch with his favorite hoomans. He loves to dig for buried treasure and will let you dress him up in costumes for the different holidays. He is smart, walks great on a leash, is food motivated and eager to please. Kirby would make a great walking companion, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet, amuse himself with a toy or just relax until you are ready to take a break. Kirby is NOT a first time adopter dog. He needs a special and experienced adopter, preferably a female, who is patient and knowledgeable about scared, timid dogs. Kirby is nervous when meeting new people and will require multiple visits with a prospective adopter before being ready to go to a new home. However, once Kirby trusts you he is loving, affectionate and the best company. Kirby is a staff and volunteer favorite. One volunteer has called him the love of your life kind of dog. Kirby would prefer to be the only animal in the family, but we don't think that is too much to ask. He has so much love to give and will thrive in the right home! . Kirby is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted. Half of Kirby's adoption fee is sponsored by a Jelly Place's volunteer.

Story
Penny is a smart, quiet 5-year-old survivor seeking an experienced handler. Found as a fearful stray, she has spent weeks decompressing in foster care. Unlike typical high-strung terriers, she has an excellent "off-switch" and loves lounging in a quiet home office. Manners&Home:100% housebroken, non-destructive, and independent (handles being alone 2-6 hours). She thrives in a peaceful environment (likes classical/jazz music) and respects immediate boundaries. Behavior&Training:Highly intelligent and logical. Penny has handling sensitivities (hands over head) and communicates fear by bearing teeth or low growling if uncomfortable. She doesn't guard her food bowl but can guard high-value bones; she de-escalates easily with a patient "exchange of value" (like chicken). Needs a confident handler using positive, thoughtful guidance—no knee-jerk corrections. Professional breed training is highly recommended.Ideal Match:• Adult-only home (no kids/chaos)• No other pets• Secure fenced yard
