Story
Kirby is a gorgeous 6 yo scruffy terrier mix, with the most beautiful amber eyes. He is a happy dog who loves to play with squeaky toys, take walks and relax on the couch with his favorite hoomans. He loves to dig for buried treasure and will let you dress him up in costumes for the different holidays. He is smart, walks great on a leash, is food motivated and eager to please. Kirby would make a great walking companion, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet, amuse himself with a toy or just relax until you are ready to take a break. Kirby is NOT a first time adopter dog. He needs a special and experienced adopter, preferably a female, who is patient and knowledgeable about scared, timid dogs. Kirby is nervous when meeting new people and will require multiple visits with a prospective adopter before being ready to go to a new home. However, once Kirby trusts you he is loving, affectionate and the best company. Kirby is a staff and volunteer favorite. One volunteer has called him the love of your life kind of dog. Kirby would prefer to be the only animal in the family, but we don't think that is too much to ask. He has so much love to give and will thrive in the right home! . Kirby is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted. Half of Kirby's adoption fee is sponsored by a Jelly Place's volunteer.

Story
Meet ButtonButton is a handsome young wire-haired terrier/Schnauzer mix, estimated to be around 2-3 years old, with striking golden-hazel eyes, a soft white chest, and an adorable little white mohawk that gives him a permanently mischievous look.Button loves being part of the action. Whether it's a walk around the neighborhood, a trail hike, or simply hanging out with his people, he's happiest when he's included. He's an active boy who enjoys exploring and has plenty of energy for adventures. One of Button's most charming traits is that he 'talks.' He'll often make funny little sounds and chatter when he's excited or trying to get your attention. He has a lot to say and isn't shy about sharing his opinions. When he's not out adventuring, Button has a goofy side. He loves relaxing on his back with all four legs in the air, soaking up attention and showing off his playful personality.Button is a smart boy who enjoys learning and working with his people. He has been doing well with his leash skills and continues to make great progress. He quickly figured out how to use the dog door and settled into his foster home's routine almost immediately, which is a great example of how intelligent and adaptable he can be.He is potty trained, though adopters should always expect a learning curve when any dog transitions into a new environment. Button is also pretty well crate trained and settles nicely when given structure and routine.Button is loyal, affectionate, and full of character. While he bonds deeply with his people, he can be a bit insecure when meeting new people and may take some time to warm up. Because of this, he's looking for an experienced home that understands how to build trust, advocate for their dog, and help him navigate situations that make him uncomfortable.Like many terrier mixes, Button can be sensitive to overstimulating environments. He has previously nipped at joggers who unexpectedly ran toward him on walks, so he is muzzle trained for situations where extra management may be helpful. His muzzle is simply a tool that allows him to safely enjoy outings while setting him up for success. In his day-to-day life, Button is generally a chill, easygoing guy who enjoys being with his people, exploring the world, and then relaxing at home. He just needs a family that understands his insecurities and will continue helping him build confidence.Button is looking for a patient, dog-savvy home that will appreciate his intelligence, enjoy his quirky conversations, and give him the structure, understanding, and companionship he thrives on.If you're looking for a dog with personality, charm, intelligence, and a best-friend attitude, Button may be the perfect match. To be considered for adoption, please submit a detailed adoption application so we can help ensure the best possible match for both Button and his future family.Apply at: www.K9ppr.orgJune 25, 2026, 5:14 pm
