Jack is a cuddly, active dude! He loves to fetch and play with his toys all day. He is neutered, current on his shots. He's good with other dogs but prefers his human companions. He does not do well in small enclosed spaces (like a crate). But he loves going for walks and uses a doggy door. He would do best with someone in a home (rather than an apartment). He has some resource guarding issues that we are working on. But other than that, this sweet boy knows several commands, such as sit, down, sit pretty and a few more! MEET MULLIGAN - This darling little fella is so much fun. He loves his toys and snuggles. He’s a little guy about 12 lbs. estimated just under or around 12 months old. (The breeds are a guess based on an internet search of his photos) Mulligan does love his toys so I think the Jack Russel part is probably accurate. He’s not as hyper as other Jack Russel’s we have had though. He’s a good boy, a little shy meeting new people since he has trust issues from being dumped like trash with two brothers, he has proven to be very resilient and aims to please. He loves to play with other dogs. He's good with kids. He’s good with cats and random farm animals that he has been around here on the ranch. Mulligan would love a forever family that will allow him to be a part of the family fun. Mulligan is Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Just like her namesake, Cupcake is irresistibly sweet and impossible not to love! Cupcake is estimated to be about a year and a half old and is a darling girl who is quick to make herself comfy in your lap. She is a total snuggle-bug who is happiest when she can be all cozy on the couch with her foster family. While she can be a tad shy, she has blossomed in foster care and is eager to make new friends. Cupcake is fully grown and weighs about 20lbs. Cupcake came to us from our local shelter after she was surrendered with a couple of other dogs when their owner was no longer able to care for them. The other two dogs got adopted quickly, but due to her more bashful personality and being overwhelmed in the shelter, Cupcake struggled to find a home. We were happy to welcome her into the rescue, and she has been doing great in a foster home and has shown us what an amazing little girl she is. Cupcake is the epitome of a sweetheart. She is affectionate, loyal, cuddly, and oh-so cute! She quickly made herself at home in her foster home and has been a great little houseguest. She is a moderate-to-low energy girl who loves her walks, but also is content to spend most of the day sunbathing and keeping her foster mom company while she works from home. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who wants an easy-going walking buddy. Cupcake seems to have her basic manners training down. Cupcake previously lived with other small dogs and enjoyed making dog friends at the shelter, but has been more than happy to be the only dog in her foster home. She could do well living with other easygoing dogs, or as an only dog. We haven't seen Cupcake around cats, but she may do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Cupcake could make a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Cupcake has been doing very well with her housetraining, but may have a few accidents while she is acclimating to a new home and routine. She has been doing well being crated for short periods and overnight. Cupcake is a quiet girl who may do well living in an apartment with proper daily exercise. Cupcake is such a fabulous companion. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
