Story
Otey is an approximately 2-year-old terrier mix weighing in at about 21 pounds of pure personality and sweetness. What started as us helping a homeless dog turned into several weeks of fostering, loving, and getting this goofy little guy fully vetted, vaccinated, and freshly neutered — and now he’s ready to find his forever home. ❤️ Otey is: ✔️ House trained ✔️ Extremely cuddly and affectionate ✔️ Funny, talkative, and full of personality ✔️ Great at making you feel like you’re never alone ✔️ Still a little puppy-ish and learning every day He’s also a bit of a scaredy cat with noises and can be an escape artist, so he would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. Off-leash recall is definitely still a work in progress. 😅 Otey has done well in a home environment and really just wants someone to love him as much as we have. He isn’t just going to a home — he’s going to his home. We are asking a $300 relocation/adoption fee simply to ensure commitment from his future family!!

Story
Meet Fred! 🐾 Fred is a 1-year-old, 36 lb scruffy sweetheart who is doing his very best to navigate shelter life while he waits for a family of his own. This handsome boy loves toys, enjoys people, walks nicely on leash, and has shown us that he genuinely likes other dogs. While Fred can be reactive when he sees other dogs on walks, don't let that fool you—he has successfully interacted with other dogs and could absolutely live with a canine companion in the right home. Fred is a sensitive pup who tends to feed off the energy around him. The shelter can feel overwhelming, and on walks that stress sometimes shows up. What he really needs is a calm, steady home where he can feel safe, settle in, and learn that the world isn’t so big and scary. Behind the scruffy face is a young, affectionate, playful dog who is ready to leave shelter life behind and grow into the amazing companion he’s meant to be.

Story
Benji is a sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, his loving personality quickly shines through. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like walking on a leash and discovering how amazing beds and toys can be. If you have a soft spot for scruffy, adorable boys and a heart for helping a pup continue to blossom, Benji is ready to find his forever home and be your loyal little companion Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)

Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. June 12, 2026, 5:40 pm
