NAME:    Pinto BREED:   Wire haired terrier mix SEX:   male COLOR:   white AGE:   born Jan 11, 2025 WEIGHT:   17.5 as of Jan 27, 2026 FOSTERED BY:  LOCATED IN:   NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Pinto came to us after being found in the middle of a highway in the dark with his dead litter mate.  Both of his back legs were broken in the same spot.  Based on his injuries and where he was found, it appears that he was thrown from a car.  Both legs were splinted and he has healed from his injuries and doing great!   On top of that, this poor little boy tested positive for parvo.  Luckily we caught it right away before he showed any symptoms and gave him a dose of CPMA (monoclonal antibody)  We are happy to report that Pinto made it through this second scare and has completely recovered.   While he was being treated for the other issues we also realized that he is deaf.  He doesn't let this stop him and he is a sweet and loving boy.  He just needs someone that is willing to work with him on hand signals and other methods of communication with him.  Deaf dogs are able to live normal lives and just need a caring family to work with them.   If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this puppy at the appropriate age... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this puppy including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. Meet Krackel, Cadbury & Lindor 🍫💛 These three sweet souls are part of a group of 10 small dogs we recently rescued from a heartbreaking situation. They spent their early lives confined to crates under a carport and inside a metal shed, with very little human interaction and no experience with leashes or life indoors. Because of that, the world is still a little scary—but their hearts are very much open. Krackel (the tiniest scruffy girl), Cadbury (a taller, gray scruffy girl), and Lindor (a white and tan Chihuahua mix boy) are all about 1.5–2 years old and under 20 lbs. Though timid at first, they want to trust. They gently approach for affection, happily accept treats, and show us every day that they’re ready to keep learning—at their pace. They are sweet, sensitive dogs who will thrive in calm, patient homes with people willing to let trust grow naturally. Once they feel safe, their affection is incredibly rewarding 💕 Their ideal home: - No young children (they’re not aggressive—just scared of loud, fast movements) - Ability to safely crate them if young kids visit - Another friendly dog to help build confidence - A quiet, secure environment - A solid fenced yard is strongly preferred - Krackel & Lindor may do okay in an apartment or townhome with very secure leash routines - Cadbury is the most fearful and truly needs a calm home with a fenced yard They are all: ✔️ Spayed/neutered ✔️ Vaccinated ✔️ Microchipped ✔️ Heartworm negative 📍 Located in Sarasota, FL 💲 Adoption fee: $350 each These little ones have been through so much, but they are ready to write a new chapter—with their people.
