Story
Candy is an adorable 1-year-old, 20-pound happy pup with a personality that's just as sweet as her name! While we can't say for certain what her breed is, we suspect she may be a Schnauzer, Norfolk Terrier, or Border Terrier mix. With her adorable scruffy face, expressive eyes, and lovable personality, she's guaranteed to steal your heart!

Candy is dog-friendly, but we've learned that she truly thrives when she doesn't have to share her home or her people's attention with another dog. She does much better as the only dog in the household, where she can be the center of attention and enjoy all the love, affection, and one-on-one time she deserves. We believe this is the best environment for her to flourish and have a successful forever placement!
A LITTLE ABOUT CANDY:
Candy is a spunky, alert, and playful little girl with a BIG personality! She's full of character, loves being around her people, and is always ready for her next adventure. Whether she's snuggled up on the couch, following you around the house, playing with her favorite toys, or joining you on an outdoor adventure, Candy loves being included.
She's also HIGHLY TREAT AND FOOD MOTIVATED, which makes working with her all the more fun! She's a smart girl who already knows a few tricks up her sleeve and is always happy to show off when there's a tasty reward involved. With her intelligence and eagerness to learn, we think she'll be a blast to continue training!
Another bonus? CANDY DOES NOT SHED! Her low-shedding coat is a great perk for anyone who appreciates having less fur around the house. She will, however, need regular grooming and coat maintenance to keep her looking and feeling her best.
At just 20 pounds, Candy is the perfect size to accompany you on life's adventures. She enjoys walks and would make a wonderful little hiking or outdoor adventure partner!
POTTY HABITS & EVERYDAY ROUTINE:
Candy has been doing well with her potty routine! She uses wee-wee pads, goes potty outside in the yard, and enjoys going on walks. Like any young dog, she'll benefit from consistency as she continues adjusting to her forever home's routine, but she already has a good foundation to build on.
HER STORY:
Candy's story is one of resilience and second chances. She was found abandoned and alone until a kind-hearted woman stepped in to rescue her. As fate would have it, this wonderful woman had previously helped one of our rescue pups, and when she found Candy, she knew she couldn't leave her behind.
When Candy first came into our care, her coat was extremely matted and uncomfortable, so she needed to be shaved down completely. Her beautiful coat is growing back, and her future family should be prepared for regular grooming and routine coat maintenance.
WHAT CANDY NEEDS IN HER FOREVER HOME:
Candy needs a committed family willing to provide love, consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. Most importantly, she needs to be the ONLY DOG in the household. We want her to have a home where she can receive undivided attention, build a strong bond with her family, and truly enjoy being someone's number-one girl!
VETERINARY CARE:
Candy has received her veterinary care and is ALREADY SPAYED! She is up to date on her age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, heartworm and Lyme testing, and has received a full veterinary examination. She's ready to find her forever family!
Candy is looking for a committed adopter ready to give her the forever home she's been waiting for!
