Story
Meet Mac – A Mighty Little Pup We’d like to share the story of a very special pup named Mac (short for Makenzie). Born the runt of her litter with severe limb deformities, Mac was unable to walk and initially given a poor prognosis. But Mac’s story didn’t end there. Thanks to Scout’s Honor Rescue, she was evaluated by the team at Houston Veterinary Specialists, who believed that with corrective surgery on her back legs, she could have a real chance at a happy, active life. Mac proved them right. With her trademark spunk and resilience, she recovered beautifully from major orthopedic surgery. Today, she spends her days chasing lizards in her foster’s backyard and soaking up naps in warm sunbeams. While Mac’s surgery was a great success, her early deformities mean she is more susceptible to injury and already has some arthritis. She will require a bit more advanced veterinary care as she ages. She also may eventually need corrective surgery on her front left leg. That means she really needs an amazing pet parent, someone who will give her the love, care, and medical support she deserves (and fortunately for us, we know quite a few amazing pet parents)! Mac gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and children, she truly loves everyone she meets. Story
GETS ALONG WITH EVERYONE!  DOB 1/1/24 WEIGHT 16 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Henry, a loving, perky, and adorable tan-and-white Jack Russell Terrier/ Chihuahua mix fella who always puts my best paw forward! Don’t you love the white tip on the end of my tail? I have a sweet, friendly personality that’s good with children, small dogs, and cats. I love to hang out in my foster mom’s lap when she sits on the sofa, where we binge on Animal Planet or Netflix. I was rescued from a Fresno, TX home where I was cruelly kept tied up outside with no protection from the elements. In my opinion, a yard is meant to run and play with toys in, and a home is meant to live and cuddle with hoomans in. Needless to say, I breathed a sigh of relief when I arrived at the safe haven of my foster home! I’m a good boy who’s already crate-trained. Now I’m ready to bring my shining personality and playful antics to my new home. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU! HOPE ID D25-1227-0058 Henry’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Henry will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
Biscuit is an energetic, silly boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves toys, backyard zoomies, and playing with his foster siblings—both two-legged and four-legged! He’s incredibly smart and already knows his name, sit, lay down, and kennel, especially when snacks are involved (he’s very food-motivated 😄). When playtime is over, Biscuit turns into a total snuggle bug and can often be found sleeping in the funniest positions imaginable. He enjoys chewing on sticks, running laps in the yard, and being wherever his people are. He’s still working on potty training and is doing wonderfully as he continues to learn and grow. Biscuit is a joyful, loving pup who will make a fantastic companion for an active, affectionate home. Biscuit is a male Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix with an estimated date of birth of 10/3/25. As of 1/17, he weighs 10 lbs.
