ALERT, CURIOUS INVESTIGATOR DOB 12/14/24, estimated adult weight ~ 20-25 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I'm Mar (as in the tuxedoed Marlene Dietrich), a snuggly, inquisitive, and playful Jack Russell Terrier/ Schnauzer mix gal who distinguishes myself as the curious investigator of my litter. I’m quite the Marco Polo explorer when my hoomans allow me to roam around the house. I wear my emotions on my sleeve with my strange little grunts – either when I’ve found something new and delightful during my snooping, when I’ve found a misplaced sibling, and even when I’m unhappy about what my hooman is doing. I make strong eye contact with my hoomans as another way to communicate how I’m feeling at the moment. Speaking of hoomans, I absolutely love to snuggle on my foster pawrents’ laps, whether it’s on a car ride or while we’re binging on Animal Planet or Netflix. Leash-training was a snap, and I love it when they take me on walks and, even better, on runs. Given some time, I can expertly remove the squeaker from my favorite toys. I also love to dig under and hide below pillows and blankets around the house. (I’m an expert digger outside too!) I like to romp around the house as I chase my toys and play with my siblings. Despite my being one of the smaller ones, I’ll instigate a tussle and even tackle them. I’m an especially alert gal, so I’m the first to notice who comes and goes from the room. This means that I’m also the most active to find one of us pups who’s gone missing and, in turn, the most excited at the triumph of discovering their hiding spot! When I’m cooling down from a rambunctious play session, I relax in the “splooting” position by lying on my stomach with my legs stretched out behind me. I socialize with the resident cat and elderly family dog, although usually their reserved personalities first need to dampen my enthusiasm to play. I learn quickly and understand social cues well. So I'm picking up potty-training, but I'm still a work in progress. I can boast that I don’t pee in my crate at night anymore and can find a pee pad when I’m loose inside. My 15-pound Basenji/ Dachshund mix momma Bruni followed my foster pawrents home from a walk; they invited her inside; and several weeks later, she birthed my #movie-star litter in foster care! Perhaps a Schnauzer, my dad must've been bigger than Bruni, so I'll likely weigh about 20-25 pounds when I'm full grown. I don’t bark too much for a terrier mix, but I certainly let everyone know when I see a cat through the fence, and I return a few barks to passing dogs on my walks. I’m ready now to embellish my forever home with love and laughter. If you're a family who's looking for an inquisitive, alert, and wonderfully scruffy little companion, I'm the gal for you! Hang onto your hats as I enlighten you with my fun, quirky perspective on life. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to cover your face with mushy puppy kisses.
