Story
Reno is a 3 year old Wire-haired Fox Terrier with AKC papers. He was adopted as a puppy by my cousin, and sent to live with my family 6 months ago after my cousin had two babies. We agreed to take Reno because we have an older Fox Terrier from the same breeder. Unfortunately, after several months together and quite a bit of training with a behavioralist, the two dogs just can not get along. The good: Reno is such a loveable dog! He is very gentle and has been around children his entire life. He is active and loves car rides. He walks on a leash beautifully and follows basic commands. He rarely barks. He does not shed hair. He rarely jumps on people, and he does not dart out the front door. He is potty trained, but you have to walk him outside to potty. He sleeps all night and just wants to be close by his person. The bad: Reno is reactive to other dogs. He does not like to be left alone for long periods of time and does not do well in a crate. He has accidents about once a week.

Story
Meet Mac – A Mighty Little Pup We’d like to share the story of a very special pup named Mac (short for Makenzie). Born the runt of her litter with severe limb deformities, Mac was unable to walk and initially given a poor prognosis. But Mac’s story didn’t end there. Thanks to Scout’s Honor Rescue, she was evaluated by the team at Houston Veterinary Specialists, who believed that with corrective surgery on her back legs, she could have a real chance at a happy, active life. Mac proved them right. With her trademark spunk and resilience, she recovered beautifully from major orthopedic surgery. Today, she spends her days chasing lizards in her foster’s backyard and soaking up naps in warm sunbeams. While Mac’s surgery was a great success, her early deformities mean she is more susceptible to injury and already has some arthritis. She will require a bit more advanced veterinary care as she ages. She also may eventually need corrective surgery on her front left leg. That means she really needs an amazing pet parent, someone who will give her the love, care, and medical support she deserves (and fortunately for us, we know quite a few amazing pet parents)! Mac gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and children, she truly loves everyone she meets. If you think you might be the perfect match for Mac, please click the link below to fill out an adoption application. https://scoutshonor.org/dogs/little-mac-pup  March 8, 2026, 9:28 pm

Story
LOVES TO CUDDLE WITH HIS HOOMANS  DOB 8/1/25, weight 12 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Pablo, a sweet, friendly, and affectionate ball of energy who’s also a black Jack Russell Terrier/ Chihuahua mix fella with four white slippers! I do best with lots of close family contact. Wouldn’t you know that cuddling in Foster Mom’s lap is my favorite spot and where I require plenty of quality time? I adore playing with the other small dogs in my foster home, and I get along great with the resident cats and with kids. My size makes me an ideal apartment dog, but I relish my daily exercise. Nothing makes me happier than for Foster Mom to invest her time and energy into treating me like a big dog. I make it easy for her because, young as I am, I’m learning to walk on a leash and am crate-trained. True confessions: I’m still working on getting housebroken. I was found wandering the mean streets of Houston. Thank heavens a Good Samaritan scooped me up because I was much too small and young to fend for myself. I was so grateful to be welcomed into my foster home, but I’m now ready to bring my adorable puppy perkiness and loving personality to my forever home. Could that be with you? Then arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave itsy-bitsy paw prints all over your heart. HOPE ID D25-1227-0057 Pablo’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Pablo will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
2.5 years old Al & Joe are a Bonded Duo Full of Love & Personality 🐾💙 Al and Joe are not biological brothers, but they became inseparable when Al was adopted from a shelter as a puppy by Joe's parents back in 2023. A month ago, the buddies were rescued from a high kill shelter where they were surrendered by their previous family. They are now looking for a forever home where they can stay together. These two bring the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate companionship! Joe is the more confident, “alpha” of the duo. He’s bouncy, fun-loving, and full of energy—always ready to run, play, and enjoy life to the fullest. While he hasn’t quite figured out fetch yet, he makes up for it with his enthusiasm and playful spirit, as he runs alongside Al, who loves to play fetch. Al is a bit more timid but incredibly loving. He thrives on affection and is happiest soaking up attention from his people. He loves toys—especially fetch—and will gladly be your playtime buddy before curling up on the couch for some well-earned snuggles. Together, they balance each other beautifully. They are both : * ✔️ Potty trained & crate trained * ✔️ Know some basic commands * ✔️ No resource guarding * ✔️ No anxiety issues * ✔️ Not skittish and not barkers (except when the UPS truck stops by) * ✔️ Very food motivated (great for training!) Their ideal home must have a secure yard where Joe can run and play and a family ready for double the love and companionship. Al and Joe are affectionate, people-friendly pups who enjoy being around their humans. After playtime, they’re happy to relax on the couch and just be part of the family. If you’re looking for a pair that brings both fun energy and sweet companionship, Al and Joe are your perfect match. Keeping them together means giving them—and yourself—the best of both worlds. Adopt Al & Joe and get twice the love, loyalty, and joy 💙🐾 Al and Joe are both neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated pups who are kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. They are currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet these amazing pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Their adoption fee include all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a high quality collar, harness and leash. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
