Story
Hi, I'm Tanner! I am a year old wirehaired terrier mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, Curious, Snuggly Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I am a cuddly man! I love to explore and get cuddles and I will ask for them once I'm comfortable with you! I love being held and hugged. I am very gentle when it comes to treats. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 5/10 Housetraining Status: I'm working on it! With some treats, time and training, I should be trained in no time! I should do well in a home: My friends at the shelter are unsure how I would do with cats in my forever home. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions. and I should do well in a home with kids on any age with proper supervision. My favorite activities are: I love playing and cuddling! I also love my treats and training, I have a big brain and I love to use it however I am very selective about when I listen. Things I need work on are: I do need work on my housetraining and some basic commands. Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: N/A Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Crane is finding himself in need of a new home after being adopted from us 4 years ago. His family can no longer meet his needs, and now he’s hoping for a fresh start — either in a foster home or with a forever family who understands him. At 4 years old, this 40 lb Jack Russell mix is the perfect blend of chill companion and adventure buddy. Most days, Crane is happy to lounge nearby and keep you company… but he still enjoys getting out for a daily walk or hike to stretch those legs and explore the world. Crane is: Neutered & up to date on vaccines House trained & crate trained Good with cats, and doesn’t mind pigs or chickens (though he may occasionally test a chicken’s luck ) Excellent with puppies He does have some classic “terrier personality” quirks: • He likes his space and prefers people who respect his boundaries • Crane is not a fan of people getting in his face, hugging tightly, or sudden close interactions — especially from new people. He does best with slow, respectful introductions where he can approach on his own terms. Once he trusts you, he’s a loyal and affectionate companion, just not the “in-your-face cuddly” type • Best in a home with adults or kids 16+ who understand dog body language • Can be hesitant with women at first, but warms up with patience • Not looking for drama with other dogs, but won’t immediately back down either • Will alert you to visitors (especially the Amazon driver ), but is not aggressive Crane also has a bit of a wandering spirit — especially if other dogs are involved — so a fenced yard or tie-out is a must to keep him safe. He would truly thrive with someone who understands terriers and appreciates their independent, quirky nature. With a little structure and some professional training, Crane has so much potential to be an incredibly loyal companion. Crane urgently needs a foster or adoptive home to help him transition into his next chapter. If you can open your home to Crane, please message us! ##2689530##
