Story
Bogart is a sweet senior, an English Pointer Mix, estimated at 8-9 years old, weighing 55 lbs.
Sadly Bogart had been found tied to a post on a desolate country road, left to die, abandoned and alone. No dog deserves to end up this way, especially a sweet, gentle senior.
In spite of his past neglect and trauma, Bogart trusts people and just wants to be loved.
This precious boy is calm, gentle, cuddly and sweet. He loves people and wants to be with his people at all times. He loves belly rubs and enjoys going for walks. He also likes relaxing in the secure, fenced yard at his foster home.
In his foster home, he enjoys the companionship of a couple of other dogs who are his size. But does prefer people, being with them, cuddling with them, and always eager to please them. Bogart is eager to learn and eager to please.
Bogart likes to sleep on his fosters’ bed at night, to be close to them. We want to find him a forever family willing to provide him such attention and companionship.
Bogart needs a forever family wherein someone is home most of the time. He can become very anxious when no one is around / when he is left home alone. Another dog in the home is helpful but he will need to learn that if gone, his people will be returning to be with him. He would also enjoy a secure, fenced yard. (No underground fences, please)
Although a bit older, Bogart is in good overall physical shape. However he came to us with a previous eye injury leaving him blind in his right eye. His eye does not appear to bother him or cause him any pain. It definitely does not impede his overall vision.
Bogart has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and on year-round heart worm prevention, is neutered and micro-chipped
