She is looking for a nice Wired Haired Terrier experienced family with a securely fenced yard. She will do well with any dog her size or she can be the only dog. She loves humans, kids, dog beds, car rides, walks and playing toys. She is a tad shy at first, but she warms up quickly to new people. She will do best in a home where family is active and house noise level is not high. No apartments please. Courtesay post for the Helotes Humane Society. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rigby was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and safely arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 5th December 2025. He’s now warm, safe, and patiently waiting for the family who will love him forever.  We post our adoptable dogs across the East Coast and Canada so we can reach as many amazing adopters as possible and match each dog with their perfect home Please note: We do not transport dogs. Approved adopters will schedule an appointment for a meet-and-greet at People 'n' Pets, Freeze Dried Goodies & Gear in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where you’ll get to meet Rigby in person — and hopefully take home your new best friend. We do not know the exact breed of our dogs. Meet Sarge, a medium-sized pointer mix who made the long trip from Alabama in search of a fresh start and a family of his own. He’s playful, silly, and wonderfully smart—the kind of dog who keeps you laughing and on your toes. Sarge loves chasing toys and then proudly parading them around the yard for everyone to admire. Once he’s had his fill of fun and exercise, he turns into a total cuddle bug who’s happiest snuggled up with his people. He’s an active guy who will thrive with regular physical and mental activity. Because he was found as a stray, we don’t have much history on his past, but his southern shelter noted that he did well with other dogs. If you have a resident dog, Sarge would love to meet them here first to be sure it’s a good fit. We do not know how he’ll do with cats or kids. He appears to be house trained. If you're looking for a bright, fun-loving companion who will reward you with endless affection, Sarge may be your perfect match! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org.
