Story
Meet Rudy Rudy is a 10+ year old senior Mini Poodle, a breed beloved for being bright, affectionate, and deeply people‑focused. He's living proof that age is just a number, this little guy still has plenty of pep in his step and a joyful outlook on life. Rudy arrived with us as a stray, so much of his earlier story is unknown. What we've discovered since then is a dog who thrives on companionship and connection. He's sweet, cuddly, and playful; and he truly shines when he's spending time with his people. Rudy enjoys toys, regular walks, and any chance to be involved in whatever his humans are doing. To make sure Rudy is feeling his best as he prepares for his next chapter, he recently had a dental procedure (thanks to the generous support of our donors) along with senior bloodwork. His mouth is now comfortable, and his overall health has been carefully checked, setting him up for success in a loving forever home. As with any senior dog, adopters should be prepared for some ongoing veterinary care and potential future medical expenses that can come with giving an older dog the love and support they deserve. Training & Support Rudy has shown some signs of separation anxiety, which isn't surprising given how much he values human companionship. He forms strong bonds and prefers not to be left behind. He will do best with gentle, reward‑based guidance, clear routines, and reassurance to help him feel safe and secure. With patience and consistency, Rudy can continue building confidence and learning that time alone doesn’t mean he’s been forgotten. Ideal Home Rudy would thrive in a home where he can enjoy lots of affection and company. A household where someone is home much of the time, or able to help him gradually adjust to short periods alone, would be a great match. He’d love daily walks, chances to play with toys, and plenty of cozy cuddle spots. Rudy will do best as the solo dog in his new home as he gets very overstimulated around other dogs and has shown he cannot settle and relax. While he may need a little time to settle in, once he does, Rudy promises to be a loving, loyal companion who brings warmth, joy, and plenty of snuggles to his forever family. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- All adult dogs at Animal Services have veterinary health checks, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed (if necessary) before going to their new homes. Story
** Note: Seobyul is currently in Korea, but she will arrive in Vancouver on Feb 12, upon adoption. For more info about him, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/seobyul/ ----------------------------------- Background Seobyul was rescued along with four other dogs from a heartbreaking situation. They had been abandoned inside a construction container and left there for over a month. The owner promised to return one day but never did. Eventually, a concerned neighbor reached out for help. The conditions were extremely poor. There was no clean water, the smell inside the container was overwhelming, and their fur was badly tangled and matted. One of the dogs had a broken leg and was suffering. Despite everything he endured, Seobyul never lost his gentle and loving spirit. Personality and Socialization Seobyul is a joyful and affectionate Poodle who loves people. With high energy level, he is friendly, playful, and full of life. He enjoys being close to his person and often follows them from room to room like a little shadow. Cuddles, gentle pets, and attention are his favorite things. He is very welcoming to new people and does well meeting strangers. Seobyul also gets along nicely with other dogs, especially dogs around his age who enjoy playtime. He would be happy living with another friendly, playful dog or as a devoted companion to his human. Behaviour Seobbyul is smart and learns quickly. He does well in the car and remains calm during baths, grooming, and vet visits. He is comfortable using indoor pee pads and also goes potty outdoors. He walks nicely on leash and stays close to his person. Seobbyul does not enjoy being left alone and does not do well with crates. He thrives when he can stay close to his people and be included in daily life. He is happiest when he knows he is not alone. Health and Diet When Seobbyul was rescued, he was diagnosed with babesiosis from tick bites. He has since completed his treatment and is now healthy and ready for his forever home. Seobbyul has received a full veterinary checkup and is healthy and happy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and on monthly parasite prevention. He has no known allergies and eats well twice a day. Ideal Home Seobbyul is a classic people loving Poodle who wants to be part of everything his human does. An ideal home would be with someone who understands the Poodle breed and their strong need for companionship. Someone who works from home or is retired and can spend most of their time with their dog would be ideal, as he does not like being left alone. A quiet detached house would be best, as he may bark when left by himself. Seobbyul is deeply devoted to his people and wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return. He is a special boy who has already endured so much. He is ready to leave his past behind and give his whole heart to the family who chooses him. ----------------------------- For more info about him, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/seobyul/

Story
**Note: Currently, Aeji is in Korea, but she arrives in Vancouver on Feb 12. For more info about her or the adoption applicaiton, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/aeji/ ------------------------------------- Background Aeji was rescued from a puppy mill in Boryung, Korea in the summer of 2023. After her rescue, she spent over two years in a local shelter without finding a forever home. Despite her sweet nature, she was overlooked time and time again. Wanting to give her a better chance, we moved Aeji to our partner boarding house. She now lives with other dogs and experiences daily care, comfort, and kindness. Aeji has waited a long time, but her hope has never faded. Personality and Socialization Aeji has a classic poodle personality. She is friendly, affectionate, and people oriented, with a medium energy level. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she slowly opens her heart. With patience and gentle handling, she becomes very loving and enjoys staying close to her people. She loves snuggling, sharing quiet moments, and receiving gentle affection. Aeji truly enjoys human company and wants to be part of everyday life. With other dogs, Aeji is wonderful. She gets along very well with them and especially enjoys playing with small dogs. She is playful, polite, and has lovely manners. A friendly dog companion would make her very happy. Behaviours Aeji rides well in the car and remains relaxed during vet visits and checkups. Grooming and bath time are no problem for her, and she is easy to handle. She enjoys going for walks and spending time outdoors. Aeji has shown no signs of separation anxiety such as excessive barking or destructive behavior. She is comfortable using an indoor pee pad when needed and also does well with outdoor potty routines. Health and Diet Aeji is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She is dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. She is healthy and happy with no ongoing medical concerns. Before her rescue, Aeji grew up neglected in a puppy mill. One of her back legs was affected by patellar luxation, and because it was never treated, it healed in a folded position over time. After veterinary checkups, the vets confirmed that the leg has already healed this way and surgery is not necessary. Aeji is not in pain and does not require any treatment. She walks, runs, and enjoys life comfortably, and this condition does not limit her wellbeing or happiness. Ideal Home Aeji would thrive in a calm and loving home where she is included in daily life and not left alone for long hours. She does best with people who have time, patience, and gentle hearts. She would be very happy in a home with another friendly and playful dog, but she could also do well as an only dog with enough companionship and affection. Aeji is a sweet, social, and devoted girl. Whoever adopts her will be truly lucky to have her. -------------------------------------- For more info about her or the adoption applicaiton, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/aeji/
